  • The main objective of this study is to propose a socio-pedagogical intervention for Physical Education in schools, relating Afro-Brazilian Civilizational Values (ACV), Adinkra symbols, and Education for Ethnic-Racial Relations. This is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach, in the form of action research. The participants were sixth-grade students from a public school located in the municipality of Paraíba do Sul, in the Vale do Café region of Rio de Janeiro. Two questionnaires were used, one sociodemographic and the other with questions related to the proposed intervention, in addition to a field diary, used to record each moment from the perspective of the teacher-researcher. The qualitative data analysis was carried out using Bardin's (2011) content analysis method, organized into three stages: pre-analysis; exploration of the material; and treatment, inference, and interpretation. Thirty-five students aged 11 to 14 years were analyzed, the majority (82.9%) self-identifying as Black (Black and mixed-race). Through the report of the teacher-researcher in the field diary, along with the answers to Questionnaire 2, it was possible to perceive that the socio-pedagogical intervention enabled the development of a sense of Identity and Belonging in the students by associating Adinkra Symbols and Afro-Brazilian Civilizational Values in Body Practices. The data analysis shows us that Memory, Corporeality, and Axé - Vital Energy were the most prominent VCABs, as well as the Adinkra SANKOFA. When asked about the Body Practices with which they most identified, the students answered Capoeira, the construction of the Abayomi Doll, and the construction of the Baobab Tree. It was also possible to verify, through the responses, a paradigm shift on the part of the students, who reported deconstructing preconceptions related to the experiences in which they participated. We believe that the proposed socio-pedagogical intervention constituted a possibility for teaching Ethnic-Racial Relations in Physical Education at school, leading students to understand their social role, based on Adinkra symbols and relating them to Afro-Brazilian Civilizational Values along with Body Practices.

  • Youth and Adult Education (EJA) is an educational achievement formalized in the 1988 Federal Constitution and in the National Education Guidelines and Framework Law (LDB) No. 9,394/96, aimed at individuals who were unable to complete their studies in the formal education system during the expected school-age years. However, what we observe in Youth and Adult Education are alarming rates of absenteeism and dropout. Since Physical Education is also a mandatory curricular component of this modality, it is necessary for its teachers to have a clear understanding of the occurrence of this social problem so that, in addition to complying with the legal requirement to encourage this population to remain in school, students’ social realities and the contexts in which they are situated are also considered, discussed, and taken into account—so that, when classes are developed with these students, they are meaningful and significant. This study presents Physical Education teachers with pedagogical possibilities for Physical Education classes in Youth and Adult Education, through an intervention aimed at reducing the gap between lessons and students’ realities, bringing students into a leading role in their educational process and thereby reducing school dropout. The research is characterized as participatory research in which, based on a theoretical framework and an educational resource, interventions were carried out to address qualitative aspects reported by the study participants. A focus group was used as the data-collection instrument, and the Dialectical Hermeneutics technique was employed to analyze the data obtained. As a result, the study offers teachers contributions toward more democratic classes, thus encouraging the active participation of learners.

  • This dissertation investigated the didactic planning of pedagogical encounters between Physical Education and Early Childhood Education, focusing on children's participation in this process. Grounded in the Sociology of Childhood, the study recognized children as active subjects, proposing a pedagogical practice built in co-authorship. The research aimed to develop a proposal for planning Physical Education encounters that contemplated listening to and involving children. This is a qualitative research study, developed from the perspective of an existential action research approach, conducted with a Pre-II class in a municipal school in Rio de Janeiro. Data analysis followed a descriptive-interpretative approach, articulating the Sociology of Childhood, the Pedagogy of Childhood, and the Indiciary Paradigm with the records of children's narratives. The results showed that the children actively participated in the planning process, reconfiguring the pedagogical proposals, expanding the meanings attributed to bodily practices, and challenging the adult-centric logic present in the organization of the encounters. It was concluded that planning developed with the children proved to be a possible and powerful process when aligned with perspectives that value the child. As an educational resource, a Pedagogical Itinerary was created based on the children's contributions during the experiences.

  • Five-a-side football, also known as blind football, is
a collective parasport that provides people with visual
impairments the opportunity to practice football. It
emerges as a valuable tool for inclusive practice in the
school context when introduced as content in Physical
Education classes. The present research aims to analyze
the perceptions of 7th-grade students regarding inclusion,

based on their experience with the adapted sport of five-a-
side football. This qualitative study will be grounded in

participatory action research through the implementation
of a didactic unit on five-a-side football in school Physical
Education, considering the principles of inclusion and
diversity in the context of the final years of Elementary

    Education.
The research will be conducted at Escola Municipal São
Januário, located in the municipality of Teresópolis, in the
mountainous region of the state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The study will involve 28 7th-grade students aged between
12 and 13 years, including 16 female and 12 male students,
two of whom are undergoing diagnostic processes for
inclusion in special education services. The study will be
developed in seven stages: literature review; development
of the didactic sequence; presentation of the proposal to
the students; application of the lessons; conducting focus
    groups with students; observation and data processing;
and evaluation of the didactic unit.
Data collection instruments include a field diary, audio
and video recordings, photographic records, and focus
groups organized with specific inclusion and exclusion
criteria. The lessons will take place in nine weekly
sessions, during regular Physical Education classes. For
data analysis, the technique of content analysis, of the
categorical type, will be used. It is expected that this study
will contribute to strengthening inclusive practices within
the school environment and support the development of
students who are more critical, reflective, and aware of the
importance of diversity and adapted sports.

  • Physical Education is a mandatory curricular component at all levels
of Basic Education, with specific content that encompasses physical practices. In the
school environment, these practices must be contextualized, problematized, and
systematized so that students can grasp this knowledge
produced by humanity and become protagonists in their future practices,
moving away from being mere spectators. However, what has been observed, already in the
final years of Elementary School II, is the low participation of some students in
Physical Education activities, while others begin to engage in other activities during
these classes. The question to be investigated through this research is: How can
the implementation of the Sports Education Model encourage the active participation of
final-year Elementary School II students in Physical Education classes? The
research aims to implement the Sports Education Model in a
teaching unit and analyze the results of this implementation, focusing on student participation
in Physical Education classes in the final years of Elementary School II. The research will be qualitative in nature and will be conducted through participant observation, using observation instruments, photographic records, and the teacher's field diary.

  • Traditionally, Physical Education focuses on teaching sports, gymnastics, dance, games, and other bodily practices. However, it is fundamental that students understand the reason behind each movement performed. The research was conducted at the Military College of Rio de Janeiro, where, predominantly, Physical Education classes emphasize procedural aspects. Thus, we recognize the need to develop knowledge about the teaching of concepts, considering the connection between content according to (Zabala, 1998, p. 62), cognitive (such as knowledge and beliefs), affective (feelings and preferences) and behavioral (actions and intentions). The investigation of the pedagogical intervention type and with a qualitative approach used the Theory of Meaningful Learning as a theoretical framework. The research focused on the teaching of dance to students aged 13 to 15, the "Alpha Generation", marked by the influence of new technologies and social media. The main objective was to evaluate the impact of applying the Flipped Classroom methodology, mediated by dance and Digital Information and Communication Technologies (DICT) in Physical Education classes, experiencing a valuable pedagogical resource for the Brazilian Military School System and other elementary schools.

  • The purpose of basic education is the holistic development of the student, as provided for in the Law on Educational Guidelines and Foundations (Law No. 9,394/96), which calls for the full development of the learner. In this context, physical education teachers should structure their teaching practice based on an integrated view of the student, addressing the three dimensions of knowledge—procedural, attitudinal, and conceptual—in their classes. This approach is based on the understanding that the individual is a complex being, going beyond motor development. Historically, Physical Education classes in schools have been predominantly focused on “know-how,” with an emphasis on sports and recreation, which has generated recurring debates about the role of this discipline in the school environment. Given this scenario, this study aims to investigate how teachers in the early grades promote the development of the dimensions of knowledge—conceptual, procedural, and attitudinal—by identifying the methodologies used to develop these different dimensions of knowledge and analyzing these approaches that enable a pedagogical approach appropriate for the holistic development of students. This is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach, as it seeks to understand educational characteristics through the collection and analysis of descriptive data. Information will be gathered using open-ended and closed-ended questionnaires, allowing for a detailed content analysis.

  • Student indiscipline has been a source of concern for teachers in schools, being a detrimental factor to the teaching-learning process. In Physical Education classes, indiscipline is also present, compromising the progress of lessons and causing a considerable amount of time to be wasted trying to organize students and resolve conflicts. The objective of this study is to investigate whether there will be an improvement in student discipline in Physical Education classes after a pedagogical intervention using Callejera Methodology as a teaching method. The research is qualitative, descriptive, and action-research in nature. It took place in a municipal school in the city of Rio de Janeiro, RJ. The research subjects were 20 students from a 5th-grade class in elementary school, aged between 10 and 12 years old. The instrument used for behavioral observation was the System for Observing Indiscipline Behaviors (SOCI). Initially, student behavior was observed over two days of classes. Two class periods were held each day. Following this observation, a 4-day intervention using the Callejera Methodology was conducted, and then the students' behavior was observed again for two days. The game was the theme used in the classes during the observations and interventions. Data analysis will be performed by verifying whether acts of indiscipline decreased, through analysis of the observation sheets using SOCI. It is expected that, after analyzing the observation sheets, the students will have exhibited fewer acts of indiscipline at the end of the investigation compared to the beginning.

  • This research analyzed the continuing education of Physical Education teachers from the 8th Regional Education Coordination (CRE) of Rio de Janeiro, with the purpose of diagnosing the materiality of the formative process in light of the requirements of the National Common Curricular Base (BNCC) and the Carioca Curriculum in the post-pandemic context. The study adopted a mixed-methods approach (quantitative-qualitative) with a descriptive character, involving 26 teachers working in early elementary education, whose data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive statistics and content analysis. The results revealed a systemic fracture between the prescribed curriculum and school reality, evidenced by the low adherence to official institutional training, as the majority of teachers did not participate in the methodological training offered by the network in the recent period. In contrast to this institutional inertia, the data indicated that teachers exercise a pragmatic autonomy, predominantly resorting to digital media and autonomous searches to meet their practical demands. Although continuing education is perceived as a vector for pedagogical updating, the triangulation of evidence denounced a widespread feeling of isolation and devaluation, marked by the absence of collective work instances. As an interventive response to this scenario of fragmentation and solitary resilience, the study conceived the educational resource "The School Floor: Teachers' Voices", a podcast in nine episodes focused on sharing experiential knowledge among peers, aiming to break bureaucratic isolation and strengthen teacher authorship in interpreting the real curriculum.

  • The inclusion of people with disabilities (PWD) in the regular education
network is yet another challenge to be faced by Physical Education
professionals in schools. Historically, in Special Education and Physical
Education, people with disabilities have suffered from segregation and
classification as fit and unfit. For many years, these students were
marginalized. However, with advances in social policies structured by
laws, conferences and studies on the educational process of people with
disabilities, this public has gained access to education networks, so more
and more schools are receiving students with these characteristics,
particularly those with Autism Spectrum Disorder. This research aims to
investigate the inclusion of students with ASD in Physical Education
classes from a didactic sequence based on Universal Design for learning
and its principles, using the thematic unit Gymnastics with a 5th grade
class of elementary school in a public school in the municipality of Rio
de Janeiro based on the experiences carried out during the didactic
sequence, after the application of the teaching unit that will have 8
classes, the participants will be interviewed in this way we will analyze
from the students' perspective the limits and possibilities of the DUA on
the inclusion of students with ASD in Physical Education classes
through the Gymnastics content. The methodology adopted is qualitative
in nature, with a focus on action research. Data collection will be guided
by field diary, interview and as well as by observations of student
interactions and engagement in the proposed activities and data analysis
will be done based on the productions present in the literature. It is
expected that the results will contribute to broadening the debate on
school inclusion in the field of Physical Education, providing theoretical
and methodological subsidies for more accessible and equitable
    practices.

  • This study investigated how bodily practices grounded in Physical Literacy (PL) can mobilize
motor, affective, cognitive, and social dimensions in first-grade elementary school children, while
also reflecting on potential connections between these experiences and school learning processes.
Based primarily on the concept of Physical Literacy proposed by Margaret Whitehead and the
guidelines of the National Common Curricular Base (BNCC), the study employed a qualitative,
applied approach using participant observation as the research method. The research was
conducted with a first-grade class at a public school in the municipality of São Gonçalo (RJ); the
intervention procedure consisted of a didactic sequence comprising four Physical Education

lessons organized around the thematic unit of "Play and Games." Data collection involved semi-
structured interviews with the classroom teacher, field journal entries, photographs, and audio

recordings and transcripts of the activities. Data analysis was guided by the Content Analysis
method proposed by Bardin. The results showed that the bodily experiences provided by the
didactic sequence fostered manifestations of motivation, confidence, motor competence, and
interaction with the environment, thereby increasing student participation in the proposed
activities. Reflections shared by the classroom teacher also indicated connections between the
bodily experiences in Physical Education classes and aspects of school learning—specifically
regarding spatial organization, communication, autonomy, social interaction, and the children's
participation in the school context. The study concludes that Physical Literacy represents a
significant perspective for pedagogical planning in school Physical Education, fostering
meaningful bodily experiences and contributing to the students' holistic development; while it does
not assign the discipline direct responsibility for literacy processes, it recognizes its potential to
engage with other areas of knowledge within the context of the early years of elementary
    education.

  • Introduction: The inclusion of students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in the school context has solidified as one of the main challenges of contemporary education, especially regarding pedagogical practice in Physical Education classes. The increasing presence of these students, largely due to improvements and accuracy in diagnoses, along with the difficulties reported by teachers resulting from the lack of initial and ongoing training that contributes to a more inclusive approach, emerge as potentially challenging aspects. In this sense, the importance of promoting studies and research that deepen the understanding of the theme stands out. Objective: To investigate the contributions of the school mediator to the inclusion of students with autism spectrum disorder in physical education classes, understanding how their presence can contribute to the participation of these students, as well as analyzing their strategies and perceptions regarding the challenges faced in physical education classes in an inclusive context. Methodology: This is qualitative social research, whereby the data collection instrument to be used will be the focus group in order to support the educational resource in the form of continuous training for mediators inspired by the principles of participatory research. Expected Results: It is anticipated that the results of this research will significantly contribute to the understanding of the role of the school mediator in promoting the inclusion of students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in Physical Education classes. By analyzing the perceptions of the involved professionals and the strategies employed, the investigation may highlight pathways that favor the active participation of autistic students in this context. Additionally, the collected data may support the ongoing training of other mediators in the perspective of physical education and inclusion.

  • Currently, the Secretaria Municipal de Educação (SME) has proposed actions aimed at the socio-emotional education of children, prioritizing relational issues and the integral vision of the student, minimizing the dichotomous vision of psyche/soma, unfortunately still present in the school and medical fields.

In this context, it is essential to understand the relationships that exist between affectivity, cognition and learning, and how more welcoming spaces can influence these relationships. In view of this, this study aims to investigate the perceptions of teachers in the city of Rio de Janeiro regarding welcoming practices, establishing relationships between concepts of Education, Health and Psychomotricity. As theoretical supports, in addition to authors in Education, contemporary authors in the areas of Health, Psychomotricity and Psychoanalysis will be used.

The research will be an exploratory, descriptive field study with a qualitative approach. After the survey of the theoretical support and the composition of the educational resource, four Continuing Education meetings will be held with the GTEF teachers, aiming to equip the educators. In the first meeting, when the training begins, sociodemographic questionnaires and questionnaires on teaching practices will be applied. The four meetings will be held monthly, for four months, lasting three hours each. The agenda of the meetings is defined by the Gerência de Educação (GED) of the fourth CRE. Finally, a questionnaire on the understanding of the concepts worked on in the training and on the understanding of the importance of welcoming practices will be applied. Then, the possible relationships between what is indicated in the bibliography, the questionnaires applied, and the socio-affective aspects involved in the exercise of teaching practice will be evaluated.

It is expected that continuing education can contribute to the enhancement of welcoming practices in the educational context, more specifically from the perspective of the Physical Education teacher through theoretical and conceptual support that dialogues with the reality experienced in the school routine.

  • School Physical Education currently faces a series of challenges, such as the lack of legitimacy in the school environment, inadequate infrastructure and materials, insufficient teacher training, problems related to the curriculum and public educational policies. All of these factors affect pedagogical practices in physical education. In addition to these, school violence, despite not always being highlighted in academic debates, is an issue that needs attention. The increase in school violence, which is multifactorial, directly affects pedagogical practices in Physical Education. Given the negative impacts that violence brings to school Physical Education, and considering the proposal of the Teaching Personal and Social Responsibility (TPSR), which aims to collaborate in preventing school violence through physical practices, it is relevant to explore the application of this model in elementary school physical education classes in Rio de Janeiro. The topic provides an opportunity to think the teaching of physical education in an adverse context, contributing to the mitigation of violent behaviors in the school environment. One way to support this contribution is through the creation of a guide that describes the application of the TPSR, serving as inspiration for other educational contexts. Academically, this topic’s approach can broaden investigations into innovative pedagogical proposals in physical education focused on preventing school violence. The implementation of the TPSR can mitigate violent behaviors, such as physical aggression and verbal violence. The objective of this study is to analyze the impacts of implementing the TPSR in physical education classes in a public school located in a peripheral neighborhood of Rio de Janeiro, characterized by high levels of urban violence. The action research, using a qualitative approach was conducted in a municipal school in the Praça Seca neighborhood, with a 5th-grade elementary class. TPSR pedagogical practices were applied to assess its contribution to reducing school violence and developing a pedagogical guide to share the results and inspire other teachers. The participants were 24 students, aged between 10 and 12 years. The results of the self-assessments indicated that 75% of participants reached the level of self-respect and respect for their peers; 66.7% actively participated in the activities; 45.8% demonstrated self-management skills; and 65% contributed to or helped a peer during the proposed activities.

  • The teaching of Physical Education in Schools (PE) in Brazil has historically prioritized traditional and sport-oriented practices, leaving other manifestations of body culture that could enrich students' education in the background. This reductionist view has been questioned by academic and pedagogical movements that advocate for a Physical Education (PE) that is more inclusive, critical, and connected to cultural diversity and social realities. The National Common Curricular Base (BNCC) reflects this change by including Adventure Body Practices (PCA) as a Thematic Unit, expanding the repertoire of content and establishing a connection between the body, the environment, and movement. In this context, Parkour, characterized by overcoming obstacles in everyday life in a creative, safe, and efficient way, emerges as an urban practice capable of providing unique, challenging, and transformative educational experiences.
However, although its introduction into PE is aligned with the BNCC guidelines, Parkour still faces resistance in its implementation as school content. This resistance is related to the lack of initial and ongoing training of teachers, the absence of specific teaching materials with teaching proposals related to Parkour in schools, inadequate infrastructure and, above all, the social view that associates the practice with risk. These barriers reinforce the need to explore ways of safely and pedagogically inserting Parkour in EFE, taking advantage of its potential to contribute to physical, social and emotional development. As pointed out by Inácio et al. (2020) and Corrêa (2023), it is necessary to train teachers and develop strategies to enable the teaching of Parkour in a safe and meaningful way in classes.

  • Introduction: When observing the current educational scenario, we recognize that ensuring teaching through effective methodologies from an inclusive perspective is a challenge for all school subjects, including Physical Education. Analyzing the history of school Physical Education, we can notice several problems surrounding its pedagogical process, such as the adoption of traditional methodological practices, sports as the dominant content, pedagogical underinvestment, gender-segregated practices, and the exclusion of certain individuals from the context of physical activities. Considering the need for Physical Education to be based on proposals with characteristics opposed to traditional methodology, active teaching methodologies emerge. These methodologies aim to innovate the pedagogical practice through teaching strategies centered on the effective participation of students in the learning process. Thus, facing the issue of excluding students with disabilities in Physical Education classes, even in the early years of elementary school, and the need to guarantee the right to an inclusive, meaningful, and quality education for all, we arrive at the following research question: Can active methodologies promote the inclusion of students with disabilities in Physical Education classes in the early years of elementary school? Can this teaching strategy encourage inclusive attitudes, such as active participation and peer interaction? Therefore, the objective of this study is to investigate whether classes based on active methodologies contribute to promote the inclusion of students with disabilities in school Physical Education in the early years of elementary school. Method: The research approach was qualitative, using action research. The research was conducted at a school within the Municipal Education of Rio de Janeiro city. The subjects of the research were students from a fifth-grade class in elementary school in 2024, with 18 students agreeing to participate in the study, one of whom was a special education student diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The students' ages ranged from 10 to 12 years. The instruments used for data collection during the pedagogical interventions were a field diary, the completion of a social behavior matrix proposed by Zuchetto (2007), and video and photo recording via cell phone. During the pedagogical interventions, the following active methodologies were used: Flipped Classroom, Teaching Games for Understanding (TGfU), and Project-Based Learning. The thematic unit worked on in the classes was sports, with invasion sports as the object of knowledge. The data collected through the field diary will be transcribed and later analyzed using the content analysis technique advocated by Bardin (2004). Data related to the social behavior matrix proposed by Zuchetto (2007) will be stored and analyzed descriptively, presented as a qualitative ordinal frequency table. Upon completing this study, the aim is to highlight the importance of active teaching methodologies as an effective tool in promoting the inclusion of students with disabilities in Physical Education classes.

  • This research aims to propose Orienteering Sport for students in the final years of elementary school in the context of Adventure Body Practices. The methodological approach adopted was action research, of a qualitative nature, involving 40 students from a 9th grade class at CIEP 075 Jardim Cabuçu, in Nova Iguaçu - RJ. Data were collected through field diaries, photographic records and questionnaires applied before and after the pedagogical intervention, allowing the analysis of students' perceptions, feelings and engagement in relation to Orienteering Sport. The study preliminarily showed that the practice contributes to the integral development of students, promoting cognitive, motor and socio-emotional skills, such as decision-making, spatial reasoning and teamwork. However, challenges for its implementation were also identified, such as the lack of specific teacher training, the scarcity of material resources and the absence of detailed curricular guidelines. The results, once finalized, will support the construction of an Educational Resource in the form of an E-book containing a structured and progressive didactic-pedagogical sequence with a series of classes that guide the theoretical and practical development of Orienteering Sport.

  • Gymnastics is of great importance as a gateway to Physical Education in Brazilian schools.
In the specific case of Physical Conditioning Gymnastics and Body Awareness Gymnastics, their contents permeate the cognitive, motor, affective and social spheres, bringing countless benefits to students.
Physical Conditioning and Body Awareness Gymnastics are present in the new National Common Curricular Base (BNCC) as an Object of Knowledge of the Gymnastics Thematic Unit.
Therefore, Physical Conditioning Gymnastics and Body Awareness Gymnastics are present as mandatory minimum content in 7 of the 9 years that make up the students' educational path throughout Elementary School.
However, traditional sportsmanship is still very present in the educational reality and other practices such as Gymnastics are neglected even though they have great historical and educational relevance.
The general objective was to discuss Gymnastics from a sociocultural, motor and affective perspective in School Physical Education with Elementary School Physical Education teachers who work in the municipal public network of Saquarema city hall.
The research is classified as qualitative in nature, characterized as action research and was carried out during training for Physical Education teachers, from the city of Saquarema, in the format of a workshop.
The instruments used for data collection were: a prior survey with teachers on the topic and the application of a questionnaire with eleven objective questions at the end of the workshop.
It is expected that the results of this research will contribute to improving the teaching of gymnastics in school physical education, offering theoretical and practical support for teachers.
Furthermore, we intend to provide recommendations for the initial and continuing training of professionals in the field, aiming to improve their pedagogical skills in teaching gymnastics.

  • This dissertation investigates the intersections between Ethnic-Racial Relations Education (ERER) and the teaching of Afro-Brazilian Dances within the School Physical Education (SPE) curriculum, focusing on the Early Years of Elementary Education. The study arises from the recognition that, despite legal and curricular advances promoted by Laws No. 10.639/2003 and No. 11.645/2008, as well as the expansion of formative possibilities by the National Common Curricular Base (BNCC), body practices of African and Afro-Brazilian origin are still approached sporadically, often reduced to commemorative dates and stereotypical representations. The objective was to analyze how public school Physical Education teachers in the municipality of Mangaratiba/RJ have incorporated ERER and Afro-Brazilian Dances into their pedagogical practices, identifying accessed documents, challenges encountered, and successful experiences developed. The research followed a qualitative methodology, applying a structured questionnaire with open and closed questions, answered by 32 Physical Education teachers working in the Early Years of Elementary Education. Data analysis combined descriptive statistical treatment for closed questions and thematic content analysis (Bardin, 2011) for open-ended responses. The results reveal, on the one hand, the recognition of Afro-Brazilian Dances as important tools for valuing Black identity and combating racism; on the other hand, they highlight gaps in initial and continuing teacher education, as well as institutional and pedagogical barriers that hinder the full implementation of ERER. As an outcome of the research, an educational resource titled “Ferramenta de Axé” (“Tool of Axé”) was developed—a theoretical and practical training course for SPE teachers focusing on the teaching of Afro-Brazilian Dances. Designed based on the needs identified through the empirical investigation, the course articulates historical, cultural, and pedagogical foundations with the aim of supporting teaching practices committed to a decolonial, plural, and anti-racist education. Thus, this study contributes to filling a gap in both literature and pedagogical practice by integrating ethnic-racial themes into dance education within Physical Education, reaffirming the urgency of training actions that enhance teaching and the construction of positive identities within the school environment.

  • The content of combat sports in school Physical Education is recognized as a relevant component; however, many teachers still do not incorporate it, numbering several obstacles, such as the comparison of combat sports with violence, gaps in training, the lack of adequate spaces and/or materials, among others. Since the development of the National Curriculum Parameters, combat sports have been included as one of the manifestations of body culture that should be addressed in school Physical Education to diversify the pedagogical practice in the field. Years later, the National Common Curricular Base emerged as a normative document aimed at defining the essential, progressive set of learning that all students must develop throughout the stages and modalities of Basic Education. It includes combat sports as a mandatory component of Physical Education. Gaining a deeper understanding of how to incorporate such practices in schools can be essential for Physical Education to succeed as a compulsory curricular component in the school curriculum. This study aims to investigate the teaching of combat sports content in school Physical Education within the municipal school system of Seropédica. It seeks to identify whether teachers use this content in their classes, if they feel comfortable teaching it, and describe the strategies they use. In the end, it proposes to produce a pedagogical support guide for teaching combat sports in school Physical Education. This study is relevant because its results can conceptually, procedurally, and attitudinally contribute to both students and teachers in teaching combat sports content. It can also provide data for the Seropédica educational system to foster formative change and encourage the continuing education of professionals in the network. The research is characterized as descriptive, with a qualitative approach, and applied in nature. As for the type of procedure, it is characterized as a field study, typically focused on a community: Physical Education teachers in the municipal school system of Seropédica. The data will be collected through a Google Forms questionnaire with 20 questions: 07 participant identification questions, 02 about the content the teacher develops in their classes, and 11 more specifically about combat sports content. The responses will be categorized and analyzed according to Bardin's Content Analysis method.

  • ABSTRACT: There is a teaching knowledge, a knowledge that characterizes a professional teacher, a knowledge that is contained in basic education teachers, which is produced by them throughout their experience according to the situations and contexts in which they teach. A knowledge that is invisible, devalued and delegitimized. Introduction: The research aims to understand what were the most significant formative implications of peer interaction for the professional development of master's students according to the perception of PROEF-UFRRJ students. The relevance of the research is based on the valorization of the school Physical Education teacher as a producer of knowledge and, consequently, on the legitimization of the area of school Physical Education as a discipline necessary for the full human development of students. Methodology: The starting point was an integrative review on the topic of Physical Education training, gathering only dissertations from national professional master's degrees between 2019 and 2023. In this sense, the review promotes the place of speech of nine basic education teachers through their dissertations, noting their ideas, values, and perspectives on the topic. This is an action research, a research method that aims to transform the environment that one intends to understand, which one intends to achieve using the strategy of providing knowledge while collecting information. The essence of the questionnaire is reproduced in a synthetic way in the script that will serve as a basis for the discussion of the focus group where it is intended that the reflections of the questionnaire emerge within a professional teaching collective, shaping their impressions regarding the topic of Physical Education Training. Result: In the integrative review, it was found that school Physical Education teachers reported that they miss moments of interaction between peers, that they are not understood, that the obstacles faced in teaching Physical Education generate a feeling of unease, that they feel the need for a place to speak, that teachers are disunited and do not understand each other, and that the academic environment is not yet prepared to welcome the basic education teacher as an equal, holder of another “expertise”. Transitory Conclusions: It is understood from this that, granting school Physical Education teachers the status of knowledge producers restores to these professionals a place to speak, a place where they have the authority to exercise their social protagonism as the transforming agents that they are.

  • This research addresses the uses and appropriations of Educational Resources (ERs) produced within the scope of the Professional Master's Program in Physical Education in the National Network (ProEF), seeking to understand their potential for strengthening pedagogical practices in school Physical Education. The problem that guided the study was: how can ProEF ERs inspire pedagogical practices and reinvent themselves in other school contexts? Its objectives were: to map the ERs produced in ProEF; to analyze the uses and appropriations of two ERs aimed at Early Childhood Education and the Initial Years of Elementary School in another school context; and to develop an application that gathers and socializes these productions. The research adopted a qualitative approach, of the Multiple Case Study type, based on participant observation, field diary entries, and children's productions (drawings and narratives), involving 35 children from a public school in the municipality of Niterói (RJ). The data analysis was conducted in light of Everyday Life Studies (ELS) and the contributions of Michel de Certeau, especially the concepts of uses and appropriations, productive consumption, and strategies and tactics. The results showed that the REs, when appropriated sensitively and creatively, become living devices, capable of inspiring new practices and strengthening children's protagonism in pedagogical mediations. The children showed themselves to be authors of the experiences, recreating proposals and re-signifying spaces and gestures, while the teacher-researcher also (re)made himself in the mediation process. It is concluded that the ProEF REs gain full meaning when critically appropriated, constituting themselves as tools for continuing education and shared creation in the school day. As a follow-up, the "Chão da Quadra ProEF" application was developed, with the purpose of expanding access and circulation of these pedagogical experiences.

  • Among the problems that permeate society, the inclusion of people with disabilities is an essential theme for the construction of an egalitarian social environment. Therefore, schools can play a fundamental role in building values that favor inclusion, diversity, and respect for differences. Physical Education, as a curricular component of basic education, must contribute to discussions of educational merit, thus some approaches and even content can facilitate these discussions. Based on this, the research aims to analyze the attitude of teachers and students regarding the inclusion of children with disabilities in school before and after participating in an event with adapted sports. The research was carried out at Escola Básica Municipal Tapera, in Florianópolis/SC, with 19 students (5th grade) and 7 teachers who teach classes in this grade. This is a qualitative and descriptive study, with data collection carried out through focus groups and field diaries. These data were processed using the content analysis technique and the analysis categories were defined a priori, based on the specific objectives. To this, meetings were held before and after the event. At the end of the research, it was concluded that the contact that participants have had for years with children with disabilities at school allows them to have knowledge and positive attitudes towards them. The most significant change found was in the experience with adapted sports, where participants understood the importance of the content for learning new knowledge, as well as raising awareness among the school community of people without disabilities. Finally, it is concluded that working with adapted sports at school is an opportunity to involve students with and without disabilities, opening a possible path towards a more inclusive physical education.

  • Dance is highlighted in the National Common Curricular Base as one of the Thematic Units of Physical Education to be experienced in Elementary School. However, studies reveal that this is a content that is considerably neglected in the organization of pedagogical planning, especially due to the culture of sport, still very present in school Physical Education, and the low affinity relationship that many teachers have with dance. These statements lead us to reflect on how much the content covered in Physical Education classes is linked to the socio-corporeal experiences of teachers and how much teacher knowledge influences the selection of content. This study is qualitative and quantitative in nature, descriptive in nature. The research is organized in two stages, as follows: Stage 1 - Application of a questionnaire to Physical Education teachers working in elementary school. The questionnaire is organized into four blocks of questions, 1- Characterization of the subject; 2- Initial/continued training; 3- Teaching knowledge; 4- Knowledge about dance. This instrument aims to obtain concrete data on the performance of teachers in the current context of the municipal networks of Rio de Janeiro/RJ and Magé/RJ, considering the relationship with dance and teaching knowledge; Stage 2 - Didactic-pedagogical intervention project with dance in Physical Education classes, which, as a method, uses action research and is based on the Didactic Situations described in the Cultural Physical Education approach. The interventions will be carried out with a 5th year elementary school class, at the Catumbi Municipal School - Rio de Janeiro. The planned didactic situations are: Mapping; Experience: Reading body practice; Reframing; Deepening; Enlargement; Record; Assessment. As a result of this research, we hope to understand the relationship between teaching knowledge and dance in Physical Education classes, as well as contributing to the development of dance teaching methodologies, taking into account the specificities of school spaces and contexts.

  • Socio-emotional Learning has gained great importance both for academic performance and for people's lives. This learning is a joint task of the family, school and society as a whole. However, the school assumes the responsibility for guaranteeing rights and meeting educational and socio-emotional demands, supported by several official Brazilian documents that have highlighted the importance of integral development. We approach a theoretical framework composed of the BNCC and Socio-Emotional Learning (SEL), bringing its main concepts, legislation and establishing relationships with school Physical Education. Regarding BNCC, we also brought important points and counterpoints to be considered in the construction of this document and with regard to SEL, we contextualized it from the beginning of studies on Intellectual Quotient, passing through the theories of Multiple Intelligences, Emotional Intelligence and establishing the concepts of Socio-Emotional Competences (SEC) and SEL, in addition to presenting some challenges and possibilities relating SEL to school Physical Education. Furthermore, this dissertation presents an integrative literature review to investigate whether or even how researchers/teachers develop SEL integrated into school Physical Education classes in the Brazilian context and also identify possible ways to guide other teachers to intervene in their own realities for comprehensive training in Physical Education classes and that include other dimensions of knowledge and not merely those linked to procedural aspects, in addition to encouraging reflection on the use of less directive teaching models. Complementing this study, an existential-type Action Research was carried out where 8 pedagogical mediations were carried out with the aim of promoting SEL based on the theme of the Dances thematic unit. Supported in this context, this dissertation also aims to develop a methodologically systematized pedagogical teaching material for Physical Education classes in the initial years of elementary school, which encompasses socio-emotional competences integrated into a thematic unit of Physical Education provided for in the BNCC and which could serve as inspiration for other teachers to develop their own materials and classes.

  • Youth and Adult Education is a modality of basic education that aims to guarantee the right to education for subjects who did not have access to formal school education at an appropriate age. These subjects have specific characteristics that must be considered in the education process. It is considered that there are specificities in the modality, as EJA students are different from those who study in regular education. Thus, EJA teaching professionals need to respect the characteristics of the students with whom they will work. For this, it is understood that continuing education becomes essential for acting on the school floor. In this context, this research proposes to investigate the continuing education of Physical Education teachers at EJA. For this, a qualitative research will be carried out, through an exploratory field study, of a descriptive nature. Teachers will have a voice by participating in semi-structured interviews and their statements will be the database for the preparation of an e-book, an educational product that aims to contribute to the process of continuing education of physical education teachers at school

  • Studies, old and recent, show that addressing contemporary issues in School Physical Education
classes still remains a great difficulty for many teachers. Especially for those who work with the
sportsman, biologicist and/or recreationist perspectives. The present research problematizes an
experience that has been carried out in schools in the city of Rio de Janeiro called Transversal
Games. She seeks to critically analyze the changes in the practical and theoretical field of this
experience, from an approximation with the assumptions of Freirean Pedagogy. This experience
can be considered one of the ways of approaching or problematizing contemporary issues. As a
methodological path, two important moments of the research could be described, presenting their
connections: the first took place through an analysis of the basic assumptions of Freirean
Pedagogy. This moment also occurred when we were taking the courses of the course.

  • The literature points out that the lack of diversification and repetition of Physical Education contents throughout basic education has generated situations of exclusion.
With regard to exclusion from classes, this, in turn, is due to aspects related to motor skills, issues involving diversity of gender, race and social class.
Although it is a curricular content provided in Physical Education classes, dance has been neglected in the school space. In this context, this work proposes to investigate the participation of students in Physical Education classes, including dance content as a didactic unit, and to identify whether these interventions can contribute to dialogues and reflections in favor of the involvement of students beyond gender issues.
The social relevance of this research is due to the possibility of building inclusive pedagogical practices.
For this purpose, an exploratory field study will be carried out, of a descriptive, with a qualitative approach, with approximately 60 students from two classes of the 7th year of Elementary School.
Students will participate in eight meetings with content related to dance at school, for two months.
After that moment, they will respond to a semi-structured questionnaire with questions related to social, cultural, life history, dance experiences and that dialogue with the objectives previously established in this project.
It is hoped that this work will insert dance content into Physical Education classes in a playful and natural way, formalizing and/or systematizing movements and gestures in a progressive way, respecting individual limits and enhancing the community, as well as the involvement of all to beyond the limiting issues of gender.

  • Working as a Physical Education teacher in Early Childhood Education can be quite a challenging task, considering that initial training often does not adequately cover specific knowledge about this segment. Since it is a stage of Basic Education full of particularities, we understand the Supervised Curricular Internship as having great formative potential for undergraduate students. Assuming that teachers who work in Early Childhood Education and receive interns in their school unit can mobilize different teaching knowledge in their daily practices, this research aimed to analyze the experiential and curricular knowledge mobilized by teachers in the development of teaching in Early Childhood Education and to identify those that they consider to be priorities in the supervision of the internship of Physical Education teachers. This is a qualitative, descriptive, exploratory research with teachers from the city of Seropédica as participants. As a strategy for data collection, a structured interview was used. To analyze the data obtained in the interviews, content analysis was performed. It was observed that teachers more frequently mobilize experiential knowledge to the detriment of curricular knowledge. Regarding knowledge related to the practice of supervised internship, teachers indicated that routine and class management should be experienced throughout the activity as a priority, in addition to drawing attention to activities that provide the student with the opportunity to understand issues related to planning. Combining the results of the research and the readings carried out, an interactive planner was produced as an educational product.

  • It’s the responsibility of each educator to socialize the historically produced knowledge. But this socialization does not happen neutrally or without intentionality. Based on pedagogical intentionality, teaching is instituted and influenced by the model of society that each educator understands as ideal. Living in a society of colonial and slave origin, black people are oppressed to this day while white people have privileges that guarantee them the access to rights that should belong to everyone. The school for a long time socialized Eurocentric knowledge to the detriment of others, contributing to the erasure of African and Afro-Brazilian history. In view of this, affirmative action policies became necessary and one of them was Law 10,639/03. However, even after twenty years, the appreciation of African and Afro-Brazilian Culture remains a distant reality in many schools. The objectives of this research were to understand the social representations of high school students about being black and black culture, as well as to identifying pedagogical possibilities that value black culture, contributing to anti-racist values in the context of high school Physical Education classes. This research is characterized as qualiquantitative, descriptive in nature and was carried out in two stages. Data from the first stage were collected through questionnair with the inducing terms “being black” and “black culture” using the technique of free words. The evoked words received a descriptive mathematical treatment with the support of the Iramuteq software. In the same questionnaire, students hierarchized the words in order of importance and justified thei choice of the most important word. Data analysis of the justifications was carried out. In the second stage, a pedagogical intervention was carried out in the second two months of 2024, with the theme “urban dances”. To validate the knowledge added by some from the didactic intervention, the focus group technique is used. The treatment of two collected data in the focus group was carried out through content analysis. The results of social representations about “being black” pointed out, that the possible central elements of these representations are “racism” and “prejudice”. The prototypical comparative analysis between the representations of black students and white students indicated that the most representative central elements are the same for both groups: “racism” and “prejudice”. As a result of social representations about “black culture”, the most representative elements are “dance”, “capoeira” and “braid”. In the comparative prototypical analysis resulting from the representations of two groups, it was observed that the most representative elements for both groups are “dança” and “capoeira”. As a result of the development of the Didactic Unit (UD), it was observed that the strategies, resources and procedures used were appropriate to the intended objectives. From the development of UD, it was observed that students understood that racism manifested itself in their social environments mainly through “jokes” in bad taste and inequalities of opportunities in the area of work. From the development of the Didactic Unit, the students demonstrated that they expanded their understanding of racism, presented new anti-racist perspectives and expanded their knowledge about black contributions to culture and society in general.

  • Digital Information and Communication Technologies (TDIC) reinforce the digital nature of technological devices (tablets, computers, cell phones and laptops) connected to the internet, enabling multiple connections in networks, multidirectional communication, knowledge production, creation and publication of information. All these possibilities can and should be used in favor of Education and, more specifically, of Physical Education, contributing to the development of male and female students, both in aspects related to the specificities of the discipline, as well as the new challenges provided by technological evolution. In view of this, this study aims to investigate the motivation, perception and practices of Physical Education teachers, regarding the use of DICT, with classes in the final years of Elementary School (6th to 9th), in the city of São Pedro da Village/RJ. The study will be divided into two phases. In the first, teachers will be invited to answer self-perception and self-completed questionnaires on Teacher Motivation and Motivation and Resistance to the Use of Information Technology. Each questionnaire item will consist of a statement and a five-point “Likert Scale”. After the descriptive analysis of the questionnaire data, the five most motivated professionals and the five teachers who appear to be less motivated will be invited to participate in the second phase of the study. In this phase, interviews will be carried out, in person or online, with the aim of identifying the conditions provided by the school for the use of DICT with students, use of DICT by teachers in their daily lives, reasons why they do not feel motivated and methods or strategies that have been used by these professionals, involving the use of DICT. The information obtained will be analyzed descriptively using the technique of content analysis.

  • Many questions that previously troubled me and permeated my imagination as a teacher became even more pressing, such as why we have Physical Education in schools. What guarantees the provision of this subject? How important is Physical Education in schools for the school community and for society? What is expected of this subject in schools today? These questions led me to reflect on the meaning of Physical Education in schools and, to this end, I decided, in this master's dissertation, to understand what legitimizes Physical Education in schools and what guarantees that the subject will be present in the school of the future. The objective was to identify the conceptions of the pedagogical coordinators of schools in a Regional Education Coordination Office in the city of Rio de Janeiro, regarding Physical Education in schools. The research is justified by proposing to investigate the legitimacy of physical education from the perspectives of pedagogical coordinators and to enable a contribution to the academic panorama. The relevance of this research lies primarily in documenting the perceptions of coordinators about physical education. In this sense, the research can contribute to the discussion that underpins the formulation of educational policies. The results of this research have direct implications for the professional field of physical education. By identifying the perceptions of coordinators, the research offers a critical view of the legitimacy of the discipline, highlighting areas that require attention and improvement.

  • This study dialogued with African and Afro-Brazilian Histories and Cultures, understanding that school Physical Education has a role to play in the application of law 10.639/03, promoting it in its teaching content and contributing to anti-racist education. The research was carried out with 32 children from a 5th year elementary school class at a municipal school in Rio de Janeiro, after obtaining approval from the Ethics Committee for Research with Human Beings. Its objectives were to contribute to student training based on knowledge arising from Afro-Brazilian and African cultures through Dance; understand how academic literature has approached Dance and Education for Ethnic-Racial Relations in the field of school Physical Education; and analyze the relevance of teaching Afro-Brazilian and African dances as a way of valuing and recognizing identities. The study is organized into chapters and topics. We highlight, among the theoretical references used, Gomes (2002, 2005, 2011, 2012), Munanga (2003, 2004, 2005, 2010), Trindade (2005, 2006, 2008, 2010), Almeida (2021) and Cavalleiro (1998, 2001). Chapter I adopts the bibliographic method that presents a mapping of literature carried out on the Google Scholar platform and in the repository of dissertations of ProEF (2020-2023) and the State of the Art (Ferreira, 2002), which was produced after a survey carried out on the platforms electronics Scielo, Redalyc, ERIC and Periódicos Capes (2004-2022). In chapter II, we opted for a qualitative approach, presenting a didactic unit developed in eight pedagogical mediations, dialoguing with Existential Action Research (Barbier, 2002), describing and analyzing the contents (Bardin, 2011), the process of construction and application of a didactic unit on teaching Dance in a 5th year Elementary School class. This process was structured by collecting data from observations, field diary records, filming, photographs, imagery productions and children's narratives. The research allowed us to realize that there are gaps in scientific productions regarding the debate that relates Dance to Afro-Brazilian Culture in Physical Education classes. Although Physical Education is advancing in research and discussions on Education for Ethnic-Racial Relations (ERER), some themes are more recurrent than others and, in particular, Dances still appear as the least covered content in Physical Education classes. to discuss issues involving ERER. Working with Dance from the perspective of ERER brought students knowledge about the African continent, about the influences of African Culture on our vocabulary, on the household items we have in our homes, on our habits, customs and our cultural manifestations. It also contributed to discussions about racism, religious racism, diversity, black aesthetics and the positive construction of students' identities.
