RESUMO:

Chrysanthemum is a product of wide commercialization throughout Brazil and the diversity of types and colors, resistance to transport, excellent durability and its easy adaptation to different regions makes it as one of the main products marketed in Several markets. However, white rust, one of the most important leaf diseases of the crop, has brought great economic damage to the produtores1. The increase in the levels of pesticides, the high cost of chemical control, the emergence of populations of resistant phytopathogens and the risks of contamination have led the man to the need to obtain alternative products for the control of the disease 2. Therefore, the objective of this study was to evaluate, under protected environment conditions, the effect of essential oils and propolis extract in the control of white rust of the chrysanthemum, cultivar white Reagan. The work was carried out in commercial production conditions at Sítio do Sossego in Nova Friburgo-RJ, in June and July 2018. The experimental design was randomized blocks in a 5x2 + 1 factorial scheme, with two essential oils (lemon grass oil and citronella oil), Propolis extract, Fungicide (Epoxiconazole and Piraclostrobina), neutral detergent, both in two concentrations ( 1% and 0.5%), and the control (water), with four replications. To determine the intensity of white rust, the incidence of the disease was evaluated over time, by counting the number of diseased plants in 10 plants per plot, number of diseased leaves/plant, number of pustules in a leaf of the middle third, Plant height and number of knots every 10 days after planting (DAP), in five assessments. Six treatment applications were performed, the first on the planting day and the others for each evaluation. The data obtained were subjected to analysis of variance (ANOVA), and the averages were compared by the Tukey test at 5% probability. All statistics were made in the Sisvar program. The essential oil of citronella 1% presented better results compared to the control at 20 DAP for the variable number of plants diseased with 22.5%, while for water 52.5% of the plants were already infested. At 20 DAP the essential oil of citronella 1%, lemongrass 1% and propolis extract 1% reduced on average the incidence of the disease in leaves in 3.73%, compared to the control. In general, a lower incidence of the disease is observed in the treatments with essential oils and propolis extract throughout the evaluated period. In the treatment with fungicide there was control of the disease, however, the doses used caused phytotoxicity, preventing the stretching among us. It was possible to adjust a linear and positive regression equation for the treatments with essential oils, propolis extract and Neutral detergent, in the variable number of leaves diseased per plant, and at 50 DAP, on average, 49% of the leaves evaluated were Sick. These results show that the essential oils used in the present study do not prevent the development of the pathogen in plants, but reduce the incidence of the disease.
