SUMMARY:

The Annonaceae family is a group of plants with a wide geographical distribution and which have great potential in the Brazilian fruit market. Among the various species, we can mention: sugar apple (Annona squamosa L.), atemoya (Annona squamosa L. x Annona cherimola Mill.), soursop (Annona muricata L.) and custard apple (Annona reticulata) for the economic importance, productive and pharmaceutical potential of the different species. However, countless obstacles are found in the propagation of these species, whether through the sexual route or vegetatively. In the germination of these species, information related to the environmental factors required by the seeds for the germination process to develop well is scarce, in addition, the low germination rate and high heterogeneity of the initial stand of these species are obstacles that need to be overcome. As for vegetative propagation, it is necessary to develop techniques that allow the formation of juvenile seedlings that present agronomic characteristics favorable to productivity and tolerance to abiotic stresses. In this way, we sought to evaluate the germination and development of sugar apple, atemoya, custard apple and soursop in environments with different luminosity rates at two times of the year, as well as the development of a mini-grafting method. The work consisted of two experiments, where from the first the seeds of these fruits were taken and germinated in spring and winter in seven environments with different levels of solar radiation and they and their respective levels of shading: in full sun (T1), natural sunlight; black screen, 46% (T2); white screen, 5% (T3); black screen, 40% (T4); red screen, 5% (T5); black screen, 57% (T6); and, silver screen, 48% (T7). In the second experiment, seedlings from sowing in winter were used in order to evaluate the effectiveness of mini-grafting for the formation of sugar apple grafted under atemoya using apical bud, approach graft and inarching methods. In the germination of anonacea seeds it was possible to conclude that the seeds of atemoya (A. cherimola Mill. X A. squamosa L.) and sugar apple (A. squamosa L.) were influenced by treatments with different levels of shading and by the time of sowing year, which can be carried out in the two periods evaluated. For the custard apple (A. reticulata) and soursop (A. muricata L.) seeds, it is recommended that sowing be carried out in the spring. In the second experiment, it is concluded that it is possible to perform mini-grafting in anonaceae using the approach graft method, resulting in intimate contact between the grafts and the formation of new vascular tissues, with subsequent plant regeneration.
