SUMMARY:

The combination of products in tank mix aims to increase the target control spectrum and reduce costs in the application of pesticides. The objective of this work was to evaluate the effect of tank mixtures of herbicides and other pesticides used in soybean and corn crops on operational parameters of spray nozzles and on weed control. Two experiments were carried out at the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro. In Experiment I, the effect of mixtures for use in soybean crop (Test I) and for corn crop (Test II) on operational parameters of spray nozzles was evaluated. The treatments were arranged in a factorial scheme, with 2 sprays nozzles, TT 110.020 and TTI 110.020 and 26 syrups recommended for soybean (Test I) and 33 syrups recommended for corn (Test II), plus the control (no products), in a completely randomized design with four replications. In Experiment II the control of Eleusine indica and Commelina benghalensis by the mixtures containing herbicides used in soybean and corn was evaluated. In Exp, I, the volumetric median diameter (DMV), numerical median diameter (DMN), relative amplitude (SPAN) and the potential drift risk (PRD) were evaluated using water-sensitive papers (76 x 26 mm). In Experiment II the plants of Eleusine indica and Commelina benghalensis were grown in pots and received application of the mixtures when the plants had three tillers and six to ten leaves per plant, respectively. 38 treatments were tested on E. indica plants and 46 treatments on C. benghalensis plants, plus the control (without application) for both species. The treatments were arranged in a completely randomized design with four replications. The syrup volume in both experiments was 80 L.ha-1. The percentage of control was evaluated at 7, 14, 21 and 28 days after application (DAA), shoot dry mass (MSPA) and shoot length (CPA). The data obtained were subjected to analysis of variance by ANOVA and comparison of means by the Scott-Knott test at 5% probability. The droplet spectrum formed by the TTI 110.020 spray nozzle has a larger volumetric median diameter (DMV) than the TT 110.020 spray nozzle. The grouts applied with the TTI 110.020 nozzle have a lower potential risk of drift (PRD) compared to the TT 110.020 nozzle, as they have larger droplet diameters. The control of E. indica was high in the glyphosate treatments; haloxyfop-p-methyl; lambda-cyhalothrin + zinc, manganese and copper formula + glyphosate; thiamethoxam+lambda-cyhalothrin + haloxyfop-p-methyl + chloransulam-methyl + glyphosate and spinetoram + glyphosate. In C. benghalensis plants, the treatment with greater control was the mixture spinetoram + fomesafem + glyphosate.
