This dissertation investigated the effects of organic fertilization and inoculation with Trichoderma asperellum on the production of two crops of economic importance in Brazil: biquinho pepper (Capsicum chinense cv. BRS Moema) and lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.). In the first chapter, different levels of fermented mashed compound and concentrations of Trichoderma were evaluated in an experiment at Embrapa Agrobiologia. The results demonstrated that the combination of the highest dose of compound (1200 mg dm-3) with Trichoderma asperellum resulted in a significant increase in the production of biquinho pepper trees, highlighting a 325% increase in productivity and improvements in fruit quality. In the second chapter, the study was conducted at Fazendinha Agroecológica Km 47 to evaluate the effects of fermented compounds inoculated with different sources of local inoculum and the presence of Trichoderma on lettuce production. Treatments with fermented compounds and Trichoderma did not show significant differences in commercial fresh mass, number of leaves, head diameter, root volume and dry mass. However, Trichoderma resulted in a 43% increase in lettuce productivity without fertilization with fermented mashed compound. These results highlight the effectiveness of organic fertilizers combined with beneficial microorganisms to promote sustainable cultivation and increase the quality of agricultural products.
