SUMMARY:

Flaked fermented composts of the "bokashi" type are nutrient-rich organic fertilizers widely used in Brazilian horticulture. Their production involves mixing complementary flaked sources of animal or vegetable origin, which are inoculated with microorganisms during the preparation process. The general objective of this thesis project is to evaluate the agronomic performance of vegetables under organic management, using fertilization with fermented composts formulated from agricultural and agroindustrial residues, inoculated with communities of microorganisms captured from serrapilheiras of different plant communities. The project includes five experimental activities, which will be divided into stages: Experimental Activity I will involve the preparation, physicochemical, and microbiological characterization of flaked fermented composts, formulated with indigenous inoculants from different soil coverages; Experimental Activity II will focus on the preparation and physicochemical characterization of flaked fermented composts formulated with different doses of indigenous inoculants from various sources; Experimental Activity III will involve the preparation and physicochemical characterization of flaked fermented composts made with different complementary sources of N and inoculated with indigenous microorganisms from various origins; Experimental Activity IV will assess the agronomic efficiency of flaked fermented composts formulated with different sources of N and inoculated with indigenous inoculants, used in the organic fertilization of beets; Experimental Activity V will evaluate the agronomic efficiency of flaked fermented compost formulated with indigenous inoculant sources compared to non-fermented flaked compost used in the organic fertilization of beets. Experimental Activities I, II, and III will be conducted under laboratory and greenhouse conditions at Embrapa Agrobiology; Experimental Activities IV and V will be conducted in field experiments at SIPA (Integrated Agroecological Production System - Fazendinha Agroecológica Km 47). The expected results from the described experimental activities are to identify the potential of using inoculants obtained from capturing indigenous microorganism communities for preparing inoculant solutions used in formulating flaked fermented composts (FFC); recommend optimal doses of inoculant solutions obtained from indigenous microorganism communities for FFC preparation; determine the optimal incubation period for preparing FFC; and, additionally, expect that fertilization with the developed composts will significantly enhance the agronomic and nutritional performance of beets under organic management.
