SUMMARY:

The use of fertilizers directly influences the productivity of agricultural crops, however, the sources of nutrients used for the production of fertilizers are largely non-renewable. In relation to renewable sources, especially those recommended in organic agriculture, the supply of fertilizers is limited and would not meet a potential expansion of organic production systems. In addition, there is a lack of technological bases, based on scientific principles, for the development of fertilizers suitable for organic management and whose agronomic efficiencies are demonstrated. Thus, the present work proposes to evaluate the agronomic efficiency of a fertilizer formulated from the pelletization of the aerial biomass of the tree legume Gliricidia sepium, called N-verde. Therefore, the objectives of this work are: to evaluate the contribution of decomposing microorganisms transmitted in N-verde in the N mineralization rate of this fertilizer and the respective determination of agronomic efficiency and the recovery capacity of N derived from N-verde in organic crops of vegetables. Experimental tests in laboratory and greenhouse conditions will be installed on the premises of National Agrobiology Research Center of Embrapa involving, respectively, an incubation study of N-verde prototypes inoculated with microorganisms and maintained in a fermentative environment and a bioassay with indicator plant fertilized with N-verde prototypes defined from the aforementioned laboratory test. The treatments tested in the laboratory test will be formed between three factors distributed in a completely randomized design (DIC), arranged in a factorial arrangement (2x2x6), with three repetitions: sterilization of gliricidia and wheat bran (absence and presence); addition of wheat bran (absence and presence); and inoculation with microorganisms (absence, yeast XMD, LA22, LF22 alone and in mixture, and Embiotic®- commercial product containing Lactobacillus plantarum and Saccharomyces cerevisiae). pH, electrical conductivity, macronutrients, C:N ratio and the quantification of volatile CO2 and NH3 evolution will be evaluated. In the greenhouse bioassay DIC will also be adopted and treatments will be arranged in a factorial arrangement (5x3+4) with four replications: inoculation of microorganisms in the gliricidia biomass (yeasts XMD, LA22, LF22 alone and in mixture, and Embiotic®) ; inoculation season (before fermentation, at the time of pelletizing and after pelletizing), plus treatments representing the absence of fertilization (control), absence of inoculation and application of synthetic sources of N (urea) and organic (castor bean cake) . The indicator plant used will be milheto (Pennisetum glaucum), grown in pots with leachate collector, filled with washed sand. The dose used will be 0.15 g vaso-1 equivalent to the total N contained in the source. The evaluations at this stage of the study will consist of quantifying the dry matter production and the N content of roots and the aerial part of the plants, estimating the total amount of N recovered from the treatments. After the steps previously described, selected treatments will compose the experiment conducted under field conditions. For this purpose, the work will consist of two phases that will consist of: production in biomass vases of aerial part of gliricidia marked with 15N to obtain raw material used in the making of N-verde and the actual experimentation of vegetable fertilization. In which a randomized block design will be adopted, with four replications and the treatments provided are: N-verde inoculated with selected yeast; N-verde inoculated with Embiotic; Uninoculated N-verde; castor bean cake and no nitrogen fertilization. The dose of 100 Kg ha-1 of total N will be applied when planting the lettuce seedlings. The evaluations will consist of the productivity and the total N and 15N content in the plants at the time of harvest and the biomass remaining at the end of the harvest period, based on the data collected, the recovery efficiency of the derived N will be proceeded of the N-verde. The residual effect of the marked N-verde on the cultivation of the rabanete will also be evaluated.
