RESUMO:

The species Schinus terebinthifolius Raddi, popularly known as aroeira or pink pepper, belongs to the family Anacardiaceae, native to the Atlantic Forest, being found from the South to the Northeast of Brazil. It is a pioneer group, dioecious, with rapid growth coming to produce in its first year of development. The dehydrated fruits of the aroeira are marketed as condiment, mainly in Europe that receives the greater part of the production. The largest volume of its production comes from the extractivism, in this way, the species has represented an alternative source of income, for small fishing communities. The aroeira has medicinal and aromatic properties, which stand out for their peculiarities, antimicrobial and cicatrizantes. This shows that although this species offers the possibility of exploration and several uses, basic studies in the area of management and cultivation are still incipient. In view of this, the objective of this work was to know the morphological, genotypic and chemical diversity of the accessions of this collection of aroeira germplasm of the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro. For this, 28 vegetative and productive characters were evaluated, evaluated in 40 genotypes of aroeira, 20 female and male. Sexual segregation was identified by quisquare analysis. Genetic diversity was estimated using different strategies of multivariate analysis, such as ANOSIM, heatmaps and dendrograms, based on morphoagronomic characters and ISSR markers. The association between characters with the use of track analysis was verified. The qualitative analysis of the essential oils of female genotypes was performed via CG-MS and with the aid of neural networks. The sexual segregation of the species was in the proportion of 1: 1. The variables related to plant size presented a high contribution with the diversity verified in aroeira. The fruit production has a high effect on the production of essential oil, the variables leaf width (LFO), leaflet length (CFol) and number of branches at the stem base (NRB), are important for the indirect selection in aroeira. The grouping patterns allowed the indication of crosses between divergent parents, being female individuals that present high fruit production and low males. In addition, a genotype with a short-term selection potential was distinguished. Through the analysis of the essential oil of female genotypes, it was possible to identify nine different chemotypes. Being α-pinene, sabinene and α-phellandrene/α-pinene, the highest occurrence among plants. In general this work was able to verify high phenotypic, genotypic and chemical diversity in the genotypes of aroeira of the UFRRJ germplasm collection.
