RESUMO:

In this doctoral qualification examination, topics are discussed involving mechanisms that may influence the biological fixation of nitrogen associated with sugarcane, highlighting the following subjects; the absorption, translocation and assimilation of organic nitrogen; the influence of micronutrients on biological nitrogen fixation; efficiency of N use by plants inoculated with growth promoting bacteria; in addition to presenting preliminary results of this student's thesis.
