RESUMO:
The text presented by the doctoral student to the members of the qualification board answered the following questions: a) In his scientific hypothesis it is stated that the insertion of automation and control devices in portable rain simulators, in order to allow instantaneous variation of intensity. precipitation, as well as the collection and measurement of runoff volume and total suspended solids content, facilitates and enables a more realistic simulation of the erosive process. Given this statement, make a survey of the state of the art regarding the automation technique and its application in the area of agrarian sciences. It would be important to include your definition, presentation of automation types, open source hardware platforms, what PWM is and how it works, a description of the sensors that will be used in your project, and finally application examples. automation in the field of agrarian sciences; b) In the Material and Methods are reported the variables related to soil attributes such as organic carbon, geometric mean diameter, weighted average diameter, aggregate stability index, macroporosity, microporosity, total porosity and soil density. How can these variables help explain the behavior of soil erosion in the different treatments being evaluated? Demonstrate through literature review; c) The partial results show the rainfall intensity and uniformity as a function of the engine speed. What would be the logical explanation for having reduced intensity (for rotation greater than 70 rpm) and uniformity with increasing rotation, with droplet size not affected? Why is the intensity reduced for speeds below 70 rpm? Wouldn't that be the most logical? Why not work at 0 to 70 rpm, as lower speeds produce better uniformity? d) Knowing that rainfall patterns affect water erosion, how can this factor be incorporated into soil loss prediction models? Was it linked to soil erodibility or rain erosivity? e) Do a bibliographic research on water erosion studies comparing soil and water loss with simulated rain, natural rain with Wischmeier standard plots and in river basin outlets, preferably outside Brazil. Explore the presentation of graphs and tables of researched works in both the written text and the presentation. In the end make a critical analysis of the different ways to evaluate soil erosion in the world and express your opinion on the subject.
