SUMMARY:

Agricultural practices are considered an important market in the urban space, not only as a way of shaping spaces, but also as a way of stimulating the permanence of populations in their place of origin. However, for this to occur, it is necessary for these properties to establish themselves and reduce their dependence on external services. In this sense, the production of alternative substrates and fertilizers at low cost, which act to reduce or eliminate external dependence, can be made possible by integrating the animal and vegetable components in the properties, through the use of domestic and urban waste. Residues produced on urban properties are capable of causing negative environmental impacts if poorly disposed of, but they can be important sources of raw material for the production of effective substrates and fertilizers. Therefore, this work aims to conduct and evaluate the adaptation process of millicomposting, based on the use of vegetable residues from backyards, the kitchen, the pruning of trees, the cutting of lawns, among other urban activities, using as a fragmenting agent the millipedes, also known as 'snake lice'. The experiments will be carried out on the properties of the participating farmers and in the experimental area and laboratories of EMBRAPA Agrobiologia. At first, it will be defined which types of sources will be used effectively, through a diagnosis carried out during visits to the properties, to identify their composition, the levels of nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), potassium (K), calcium (Ca) and magnesium (Mg) contained in them from five samples of each material that will be used. Individuals of Trigoniulus corallinus must be used in the experiment, being collected from an active search for the occurrence of animals in areas of accumulation of organic matter in the areas of urban properties. The production of the developed compost will be carried out in a first moment in a greenhouse of the Integrated System of Agroecological Production (SIPA - “Fazendinha Agroecológica Km 47”), located in the municipality of Seropédica, RJ and in a second moment it will be carried out simultaneously in Fazendinha Agroecologica and in three urban agriculture properties, located in the Metropolitan Region of the City of Rio de Janeiro. The final product of the millicompost (GC120 - millicompost of 120 days) will be obtained 120 days after the beginning of the process, at the end of the process the residues will be sieved in a 2 mm mesh and evaluated for their quality and efficiency which will be evaluated by means of comparison with two other substrates used in the project, being PCC (Compound from conventional composting) and BIOMIX (commercial substrate) with respect to their chemical characteristics, the determination of the levels of N, P, K, Ca and Mg, of the carbon content, pH, forms of N present (N-amonium, N-nitric and N-organic) and electrical conductivity. Regarding the physical characteristics, the parameters bulk density, macroporosity, microporosity, total porosity and the water holding capacity will be evaluated. The applicability of the use of the millicompost will also be evaluated, the compound will be evaluated as a product, where it will be observed how the quality of the millicompost is maintained when stored for a long period of time, in this case the storage time will be 10 months in plastic packaging. sealed, with about a kilo, in a room with no specific control, trying to approximate the real situation of commercial establishments, during this experiment physical and chemical parameters will be evaluated. The compost will also be evaluated as a substrate for seedling production, by evaluating the quality of seedlings produced in trays, where after sowing, ten seedlings per experimental unit will be removed at random to evaluate the following parameters: seedling vigor (VM), root ball stability (ET), fresh shoot weight (MFPA), fresh root weight (MFR), dry shoot weight (MSPA), dry root weight (MSR), number of true leaves (NF) and plant height (AP). It will also be evaluated as organic fertilizer in the production of vegetables and the field experiment will be conducted in an experimental area at EMBRAPA Agorbiology, where after the production of seedlings in whiting, they will be transplanted to the field and conducted until the ideal harvest point is reached , the useful portion will be represented by eight plants in the central row and the parameters of commercial fresh weight (g), diameter and height of the plant (cm), number of leaves greater than five centimeters and productivity will be evaluated. Subsequently, the post-harvest quality of the produced vegetable will be evaluated, where the following parameters can be evaluated depending on the crop to be evaluated, fresh weight, length (cm) and fruit diameter (cm), instrumental firmness, total soluble solids (ºBrix), total acidity (TA), pH, vitamin C, electrical conductivity (EC). With these evaluations, it is expected to observe the chemical, physical and biological characteristics presented by the millicompost obtained under different forms of management of the millicompost process, in addition to its quality and efficiency, as well as the quality of the vegetables produced.
