Use of Gordaite ore to remove Ca and Al content from industrial waste from the Brazilian Mintgordaite, contamination; adsorption; cation exchanger, layered hydroxide salts.
The contamination of water resources, generated from industrial activities in its various sectors, has generated many concerns around the world and for this reason, seeking alternatives to try to reduce the direct impact of pollutants has become a topic of extreme importance. The Casa da Moeda do Brasil, founded in 1694, is responsible for the production of official coins and paper money in Brazil, given the country's economic need, however, the residual load of metals (Ca and Al) that is generated for making of these products is very expressive and needs a correct disposal, in order to minimize the direct deposition of pollutants in the environment. Therefore, this project aims to use Gordaíta ore to enable the total/partial reduction of the metals contained in the residues of the Brazilian Mint. Based on the structure and properties of gordaite, it is expected that there will be a successful removal of the residual contents of Ca and Al with the use of the ore, due to its adsorption capacity and structural alteration, characteristics that are extremely necessary for the purpose of the project. , also combined with a low processing cost synthesis.
