SUMMARY:

If, on the one hand, the conception of modernization of agriculture in Brazil, understood by Delgado (2012) as a conservative modernization between 1965 and 1985, was mobilized to constitute a process of transformation of the technical base of limited rural production that made possible an integration of the oligarchies rural areas with large commercial capital; on the other hand, a narrative of modernization has been rescued, this time, of an agribusiness (and not just agriculture), along the lines of the global economic context of the last decades: with a predominance of transactions (financing and credit) in the capital markets to from the process of financialization of economies, digitalization processes and integrated into sustainable global chains. Seeking to advance in this reflection, the qualification project seeks to understand new disputes that are imposed on the Brazilian farmland at the present time, whose main feature is the substantial increase in the performance of institutional investors and operations of foreign financial capital allied to large agro-industrial capital (national and international) in the expansion of national agribusiness and in the acquisition and/or control of land and natural resources between 2000 and 2020. Therefore, the objective of this research focuses on investigating the nexus between the capital market from updating private financial narratives and strategies with agribusiness. We argue that the private rural credit market integrated with a growing digitalization and cutting-edge technology of production, monitoring and credit systems has been an indispensable route in the process land assetization and for the strengthening of financialization and exploitation of natural resources in the country. To this end, the methodology used will be the analysis of the historical component of financial expansion with land deals (seeking to highlight the differences between the sector's own financing practices and the financialization processes); in addition to a bibliographic review of the theme, continuity in the collection of secondary statistical data and conducting semi-structured interviews.
