SUMMARY:

The main objective of this paper is to understand the narratives and discourses concerning the Maricá Lagoon, taking into account the conflict surrounding the Maraey megaproject. To do this, it mobilizes discussions around the colonialities of power, being, knowledge and nature as a way of characterizing the role of the main players in the conflict. Based on the understanding that the conflict stems from an international company oriented towards sustainable development, it also intends to analyse the extent to which the discourse of sustainability is sustained in a scenario in which the actors present in the territory do not claim it, not because of negativist logics, but because they are, in reality, the very bodies that protect and sustain the land. In this sense, in addition to the discussion on environmental conflicts, the notions of financialized capitalism and nature are also Colonialities, Nature, Maricá, Mega-enterprisesa relevant framework for the research.
