RESUMO:

The objective of this project is to analyze how state public policy instruments impact on the flows and dynamics that mediate food production and consumption in the states of Rio de Janeiro and Bahia, seeking to observe whether State Governments' actions have a significant impact on the food supply of these territories. It is hoped to contribute to the reflection on how the capacity of the subnational sphere of the Brazilian State has been configured to formulate and implement food supply strategies, based on the principle of food sovereignty and the Human Right to Adequate Food, in face of the growing process of predominance of private corporations on the food market and strengthening the other spheres of government in the formulation and execution of public policies in Brazil. For this, a comparative study will be carried out to map the performance of the respective state governments and analyze the repercussion of this intervention in the process of relocation / relocation of food systems in these territories and their vulnerability to supply crises.
