SUMMARY:

This thesis analyzes Quilombola Agricultural Systems (QAS) in Brazil, understanding them as territorial expressions that articulate agricultural production, territory, ancestry, and collective organization.
It starts from the understanding that these systems have been historically made invisible and framed by productivist, individualistic, and Eurocentric rationalities, which have fragmented their multiple dimensions and practices.

In this context, Muxirum is mobilized here not only as an agricultural work practice, but as an epistemology materialized in the collective organization of Quilombola life, a practical method that articulates ancestry, technique, territory, memory, and politics. It is configured as an interpretative key to understanding QAS, beyond the universal and homogeneous categories of modern science.

Anchored in counter-colonial references, the research adopts a qualitative, participatory, and situated approach, being developed in Quilombola territories in the state of Mato Grosso over twelve months. The methodological approach is carried out through experience in Muxiruns, collective listening, and the sharing of narratives, taking the territory as a place of knowledge production.
The central objective is to analyze Quilombola Agricultural Systems using Muxirum as an epistemological practical method, identifying the multiple dimensions of these systems and their contribution to food sovereignty, biodiversity conservation, and the promotion of Quilombola Peace in the territories.

By affirming Muxirum as a methodological and epistemic foundation, this thesis proposes a shift in the way knowledge about agriculture is produced, recognizing quilombos as territories of science, politics, and the production of life.

Thus, it is argued that Traditional Quilombola Agricultural Systems are not only productive alternatives, but also result from political projects of resistance and territorial organization, capable of offering answers to contemporary crises and confronting coloniality.
