RESUMO:

This thesis examines practices and social meanings of the exchange relationships that consist of sair pra ganhar jogo e pagar visita, made by soccer clubs and teams, in communities and villages of the rivers Tapajós and Arapiuns, in Santarém/PA. This social fact is based on a mutual agreement, permeated by a sumptuous ostentation, which is based on the act of giving, receiving and rewarding festa grande tournaments, trading soccer games, beer packages and party tickets. The descriptions are given in the exercise of comprehensive historical comparisons and include analyzes of the permanences and social transformations, being the soccer game and the party, the conductive threads to apprehend singular relations. The work identifies exchanges mediated or not by money, as well as examines values and rules that guide social situations. Tournaments are social spaces of fun and, above all, the flow of friendly relations. Its revelers, metaphors of the the clubs and times, transact things on the basis of credit-debt and guarantee the continuous flow of events, as well as assimilate the temporal demarcations of being together, among allies and friendships. The study sought to understand how mobility and circulation engage people and things in the social network, shaping intercultural processes.
