RESUMO:

The thesis uses a multidisciplinary approach to economic sociology, institutional economics and environmental economics to investigate the history of creation and performance of the Responsible Soy Round Table (RTRS) and Sustainable Livestock Working Group (GTPS) networks. It investigates the opportunities, limits and challenges for these two networks to leverage a new Brazilian agricultural production model that leads to the preservation and recovery of natural and ecosystem services, as well as the coherence between the discourses of their actors and practices, considering their environmental impacts on two chains.
