RESUMO:

The objective of this work is to study Law 1776 of 2016, by means of which the Zones of Interest for Rural, Economic and Social Development (Zidres) are created. It is argued that based on this legislation progress is being made in the process of expansion and consolidation of the agribusiness model in Colombia, since it includes institutional arrangements that allow the use of public lands for that purpose. In this law, the Colombian State translated demands from both the global and national levels. At the global level, the Zidres law responds to dynamics, interests and actors that promote the expansion of the agribusiness model, which intensifies after 2008 with the phenomenon of land grabbing or global land grabbing. At a national level, the Zidres law is part of a process of consolidation of business agriculture and agribusiness, and arises precisely in the context of discussion of major agrarian transformations in Colombia, linked to the pattern of the Comprehensive Rural Reform (RRI) agreed. in the peace agreement with the guerrilla of the FARC-EP. Its implications at a national level and its significance in the historical dispute over land in Colombia, are part of the reflections of this thesis
