RESUMO:

The work aims to analyze and reflect on the occurrence and recurrence of land occupations in the region of Baixada Fluminense, in the state of Rio de Janeiro, between the late 1970s and early 1980s. If I take into account the case of Mutirão Campo Alegre, seeks to highlight the historical importance of this occupation, based on the individual and collective memory built during the first years of occupation of the area, as well as the processes of daily resistance that allow the occupants to remain on the earth until the present day. In establishing this discussion, it seeks to highlight the recurrent violations of rights suffered by the land claimants, exercised in the most diverse forms, as well as the attempts of resistance of the occupants and their mobilization and organization, contemplating, in this way, the social agents involved and their mechanisms of struggle.
