SUMMARY:

From the year 2016, small farmers' fairs began to appear in the interior of the Serrana Region. In the small town of Bom Jardim, Cantagalo and Cordeiro, for example, weekly fairs were organized in addition to the more traditional ones, such as the "Nova Friburgo Cooperative", which has been in operation for another 50 years. The present work is part of that context and intends to analyze the Rural Producer Fair in the city of Cordeiro. Recent literature points to the ability of fairs to reconnect producers with consumers and relocate food, showing that they have an origin. So, they revalue the place, the artisan production and show respect for the maturation time of each crop. These are the aspects that we will try to analyze, in order to understand if the Fair of the Cordeiro's Rural Producer is able to contribute to the agricultural diversification of the producers that participate in it. The methodological procedures used in the study will be: bibliographic review, data survey through semi-structured surveys, observation and data analysis.
