SUMMARY:

This research project presents a research proposal on food activism in contemporary Brazil, focusing specifically on the movements around the PANC, the Unconventional Food Plants. The project introduces the thematic universe of food activism and brings theoretical foundations from the sociology of food and studies on political consumption, to then present the main problematizations related to the object, to be deepened during the research, that is, the actors involved with the PANC, the practices and strategies employed in the defense of this theme, the objectives and limitations of these movements. In addition, this project presents an account of an exploratory fieldwork carried out in the municipality of Padre Bernardo/GO, where it was possible to observe some problematizations presented here.
