The present research has as its thematic field land conflicts and the National Council of Justice. The research is linked to the Brazilian agrarian question. It is intended to study land conflicts in the context of the justice system from the National Council of Justice, more specifically from the Land Affairs Forum. The Land Affairs Forum emerges as an object because it is an institution created by the National Council of Justice and subordinated to it, focused on the theme “legal certainty in the rural areas”, land conflicts and violence in the countryside, and an institution for monitoring conflicts over land and to dialogue with sectors of society involved in the issue, in which the Confederation of Agriculture and Livestock of Brazil (CNA) participated, an employer union institution, in accordance with technical cooperation agreement No. 26/2010, in which the CNJ enables the participation of the CNA, among other provisions. The work consists of an analysis of land conflicts and the Judiciary, which has as its object the Forum of Land Affairs and the inspection of the justice system based on processes related to conflicts over land. The discussion on the need for greater democratization and social responsibility of the Judiciary is at the heart of the origin of the National Council of Justice and later of the Forum on Land Affairs, the latter focusing on land conflicts.
