SUMMARY:

This research aims to understand the process of formation of the Angrense Japuíba neighborhood, through the transformations which the farm that gave rise to the neighborhood, suffered, since the installation of large investment projects (GPIs) in the city of Angra dos Reis, they became elements that justified the construction of the BR-101, the highway that cuts through the Japuíba neighborhood. It is believed that the Rio-Santos federal road (BR-101) is one of the GPIs that most impacted the formation of Japuíba as a neighborhood, as a project of this magnitude generates different social strata and conflicts over the territory through which it crosses. In this way, we seek to investigate the conflicts fought on the farm, through a rescue of the memory and the struggles of the original populations of this region.
