SUMMARY:

This study is carried out in the City of Rio de Janeiro, after the disclosure that 6.8% of the population of the State of Rio de Janeiro, about 1.2 million citizens of Rio de Janeiro, do not have enough to eat. The intention of this research is to map the discourses of the City Council and its role in proposing, enforcing and monitoring food policies since the 2000s, in order to promote food and nutritional security in a sustainable, resilient and nutritious way. To this end, the research will instrumentalize the discourse analysis model through computational tools. The focus of the work will be to understand the actions of the Legislative over twenty years (2001-2020) and to understand the dynamics and main actors that act in the City Council, understanding this as a political arena in which different political interests are in conflict and dispute.
