SUMMARY:

This master ́s qualifying project aims to analyze the EU’s Common Agricultural Policy
(CAP) and the changings occurred on its structure since its creation, in 1962, in the Fordist age,
to post-Fordism, in order to uncover if it is still the same, if it really works, which countries are
covered, who does it benefit, and which lessons can be taken from it. The referred theme has a
lot of relevance due to its one public agricultural policy subsidized by the States and with an
elevated protectionist degree, which projects above it intense internal and external pressures on
the part of free market defenders and from the neoliberal agenda. Therefore, the research will
be conducted through a critical and analytical study tracing a European Union ́s timeline before
its creation, while European Regional Integration, until the present time. For this purpose, will
be worthy of the exploratory technical and by the comparative mode between one period and
other, inside the Fordism welfare policies until the beginning of its reforms, in the current
European neoliberal context, utilizing bibliographic research with primary and secondary
consultation. In summary, its realized that European Union has suffered an inflection towards
neoliberalism which reflects on its common agricultural policy.
