RESUMO:

This research takes as its locus the Ponta dos
Castilians, located south of Boipeba Island. The research universe encompasses two
communities, located on the Island and on the continent, respectively the Community of São
Sebastião in the municipality of Cairu and the community of Barra dos Carvalhos that belongs
to the municipality of Nilo Peçanha, both located in the Low Southern Territory of Bahia. O
conflict inherent to such Project is not the object of analysis, we seek to observe some
aspects of its manifestation to highlight and understand power and domination, the
to subsidize the issue to be analyzed, which is dedicated to understanding how violence
which is exerted directly by these local agents,
fundamental component of rentism in the Low South. The empirical universe centers on
in the case of 54 deterritorialized peasants from the south of Boipeba
residence on the continent and draws connections between this case, which involves more peasants
of Barra dos Carvalhos and the action of rentism, disguised as a tourism project.
Socio-environmental conflict has gained visibility in the last decade and involves a number of
developments motivated by tourist and real estate speculation. The study area,
stands out for its natural heritage, biological diversity, Atlantic forest,
mangroves, coral reefs, marine environment, and cultural diversity,
present thanks to the territorialities of the Traditional Peoples and Communities, especially
riverside, considered here as black peasantry. The theoretical field of
research advocates Latin American Political Ecology and the field of
Decolonials, from the approach of coloniality of power where race and racism
They are central categories. Participant observation was adopted as a method, launching
open and in-depth semi-structured interviews, as well as the use of maps,
photographs and software aid sphinx. The first chapter is intended for a quick
historical evolution of the Lower South and a debate on coloniality, giving clues about
the power relations that predominated in the territory.

to raise aspects of how the state, especially the judiciary, expresses coloniality to the
introduce themselves and relate to the elites and local peasant populations to
understand the strategies of power and domination that economic groups exert in the Lower
South and its leading role in the continuity of colonial situations - understood here as
colonialidad. Chapter 3 seeks to see how anti-black violence has been
to enable elite tourism and territorial laundering,
territorial context marked by the large production of foodstuffs from the
fishing and agriculture that constituted this peasantry.
