SUMMARY:

 

The purpose of this study is to analyze the transition process from Escola Agrotécnica Federal de Ceres (EAFCe) to Instituto Federal Goiano – Campus Ceres, emphasizing changes in the institutional trajectory and in the everyday dynamics that produced them, through the experience of the actors involved in day-to-day activities of school life. As important as the accommodation and adaptation processes, we try to identify the moments of conflicts and the emergence of controversies and processes of resistance that may have occurred during this process. We seek to understand how an Institution is formed and how it lasts over time, even if it needs to effectively change and/or update itself. Our analysis prioritizes the ways in which the subjects involved engage in this process. For this, we rely on the theoretical constructs which instrumentalize the perception of social dynamics by seeing individuals within networks or fields of relations, establishing connections between the macro and micro levels of sociological analysis: Norbert Elias, Pierre Bourdieu, Bernard Lahire, Erving Goffman, François Dubet and Paul Willis. For its importance to Campus Ceres, because it has existed since the beginning of the institution, with the largest number of enrolled and graduating students, marked by the regularity of the offer and the definition of its own institutional identity – in the perception of students and (public) servants -, we have chosen the Curso Técnico em Agropecuária and its trajectory as the guiding thread of our analysis. We start from the hypothesis that these two configurations (EAFCe [1993-2008] and Campus Ceres/GO of IF Goiano [since 2008]), both from national public policies, were mediated by the school daily life and its actors; and by its connections in the region, growing particularities and peculiarities in its local embodiment.
