SUMMARY:

The Zapatista autonomous education promotes the expansion of political imagination beyond the epistemological limits of life under the capital. Their educational practices are formalized in Zapatista schools and are assiduously developed through everyday interrelationships as well. The present work looks at the extrapolative power of the “gato-perro tales” and understands them as elements that have educational strength in the Zapatista relational manner. This analysis horizon triggers the multiplicity of ways of existing in the world, from which the idea of ”becoming-myth” is coined. Thus, the objective is to reflect on the Zapatista contributions around the perception of reality and then to establish a dialogue between the understandings of these subjects and those from the critical modern scientists who elaborate on the urgency of capitalist refutation and radical refoundation of society's paradigms. For this aim, the cohesion between the myth founded on the Zapatista epistemological scope and the concrete actions towards the transformation of the world were acknowledged. The maturing of this work was supported by the statements published in the official Zapatista domain - the Enlace Zapatista - about critical thinking and categories derived from this idea to compare them with modern anti-modernity theories, such as the philosophy of difference, the decolonial theory and the amerindian political anthropology.
