SUMMARY:

The present work aims to analyze the identity processes of masculinities from the roles attributed to men and women in and from the countryside that make up the Landless LGBT Collective of the Landless Rural Workers Movement (MST) with the objective of understanding how the deconstruction of these identity processes, based on the experiences of these dissident bodies, can contribute to reinforcing a restrictive and excluding bias towards plural identities. Through the reproduction of cisnormative male and female performances only and exclusively when the corporeal diversities and identities of these individuals are not considered. In this way, from the bias of gender binarism, where the approximation with femininity traits implies the devaluation of the masculine identity for men, as well as masculine mannerisms for women, it also reverberates a process of delegitimization, we will seek to understand how men and women are inserted in these masculinity production processes in historically dichotomous reproduction spaces. In this way, gender studies allow us to discuss the masculinities and pluralities of being a man and being a woman. As well as thinking about how gender violence and its conditions for marginalization, subalternity and exclusion are evidenced by the departure from the predetermined gender pattern, where being feminine and/or effeminate is associated, throughout history, with passivity, docility , submission and not being a “real” man, as well as being masculine denotes a character of denial of the female identity and distancing from the ideal of being a woman due to the predominance of cisheteronormative traits and patterns present in the social environment.
