RESUMO:

The purpose of the dissertation is the emengence and recurrence of land ocupation in the “Baixada Fluminense” region, in Rio de Janeiro city, between the end of the 1970s and beginning of the 90s. Taking the case of “Multirão Campo Alegre”,the research seeks to highlight the historical importance of this occupation, starting from of the individual and
colective memory built during the fist years, as well as the daily resistance processes that made it possible for the ocupants to remain until now. Establishing this discussion, the dissertation seeks to highlight the recurring violations of dues suffered by claimants of land, exercised in the most diverse form, as well as their attempts at resistance. Their mobilization and organization thus, contemplating the social agentes involved and their forms of fight.
