RESUMO:

Despite the increasing emphasis on technology and sanitary management, there is a need to investigate the high rates of abortion and mortality, which decrease productivity in swine, the objective of this work, will be the association of the reproductive disorders observed in sows with parabasalid isolation and of fecal coliforms (Escherichia coli), with agents of these reproductive disorders. The proposed methodology will be to evaluate the frequency of this etiological agent in the swine herds, located in the municipality of Pinheiral/RJ, of the IFRJ Swine Laboratory, which are carriers of the protozoan and common vaginal secretion due to E. coli. To do this, samples of vaginal mucus and faeces will be collected, which will be kept in 5.0 mL culture in the Diamond medium and 10 mL of Phospahate Buffered Saline (PBS), stored in a bacteriological oven at 37 ° C for morphological identification and tintorial of the protozoan. With regard to that vaginal secretion will be collected aseptically by swab with culture medium, kept under refrigeration, and in the laboratory clutched in Blood Agar, Cromoclin and MacConkey Agar. The isolated colonies will be submitted to the identification process regarding morphology, biochemistry and dyeing characteristics. Regarding the reproductive disorders, the fiches inserted in the program Agriness Software will be evaluated, confronting the protozoological and bacterial isolation, verifying the association of the same ones. The data obtained will be analyzed by the Chi-square through the Epiinfo program.
