Central Nervous System Diseases of Dogs Diagnosed at the "Setor de Anatomia Patológica" from the "Universidade Federal Rual do Rio de Janeiro" from 1949 to 2019

This retrospective study project will be conducted at the "Setor de Anatomia Patológica" of the "Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro" (SAP/UFRRJ) through the clinical and pathological study of dog nervous system diseases over seven decades (1949-2019). Diseases of the central nervous system (CNS) of dogs diagnosed in the Pathological Anatomy Sector of the Rural Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, in the city of Seropédica, RJ will be described. The book records of necropsy records of dogs with clinical history of nervous system abnormalities will be selected. The cases will be characterized in infectious diseases, toxic diseases, neoplastic diaseases, mechanics injuries and other injuries. Diseases affecting the central nervous system of dogs represent important cause of death in dogs in the metropolitan region of Rio de Janeiro. Knowledge of the pathogenesis of these diseases is essential to make a list of differential diagnoses of major diseases in the region. A varied clinical manifestation according to the observed agent, as well as the location and distribution of the lesions, being essential the clinician know how to identify.
