RESUMO:

Compounds of plant origin have been identified as promoters of tick control. In chapter 1, the present work aimed at the phytochemical study of essential oils (OEs) of the bark of Cinnamomum zeylanicum (cinnamon) and of the capsule of Eremanthus erythropappus (candeia) and evaluation of the tick activity of these OE (s), together with
their major compounds and acetylated compounds analogous to Rhipicephalus microplus. The results of gas chromatography and mass spectrometry of composite sample (E) - were classified as major or cinnamon OE (86.93%), and α-bisabolol as the main compound of candeia OE (78.71%). Bioassays with non-fed larvae were
performed using the larval pack test at doses from 0.31 to 10.0 mg / mL. For OE of cinnamon, candeia, (E) cinnamaldehyde, α-bisabolol and cinnamyl acetate, mortality of over 90% was observed from the concentration of 2.0; 2.0; 2.5; 5.0; 5.0 mg / mL, respectively. For engorged children, the immersion test of 2.5 to 60.0 mg / mL was
performed or tested, with only the kinetic acetate shown in low activity being observed, resulting in a percentage control of 36.2% at its highest concentration (60.0 mg / ml). A control percentage above 95% was observed for cinnamon OE, or (E) cinnamaldehyde, candeia OE and α-bisabolol in the applications of 20.0, 20.0, 60.0, 20.0 mg / mL in the analyzes of 20.0, 20.0, 60.0, 20.0 mg / mL, respectively, demonstrating the acaricidal
potential of these compounds on R. microplus. In Chapter 2, the activity of (E) - cinamaldehyde and α-bisabolol was investigated over fifty-one detection rates of Rhipicephalus microplus, with different resistance differences and different active ingredients currently commercial. To characterize the degree of resistance, deltamethrin
(Pyrethroid - Butox®), amitraz (Amidine - Triatox®) and chlorfenvinfos (Organophosphorus - Supokill®) were used in his commercial company without immersion testing in the profession. For the calculation of the LC50 of the larvae
negotiated with compounds, the larval pack test was performed in the ranges of 0.31 to 10.0 mg / mL. In this stage, tests were also carried out with the Porto Alegre strain (POA), a sensitive strain for reference in calculating the Resistance Ratio (RR). Among the fifty mutations, it was not possible to observe lesions treated with pyrethroid, for
children treated with amidine and organoformate observed, respectively, above 95% in 6 and 30% of mutations. For the larvae tests, an LC50 of the POA strain of 1.57 mg / mL was found for (E) -cinamaldehyde, as well as an excess of LC50 varies between 0.23 and 2.36 mg / mL. With regard to larvae treated with α-bisabolol, an LC50 was
observed for a POA of 1.70 mg / mL, for other species LC50 ranging from 1.57 to 3.01 mg / mL was recorded. Based on the results, it was not possible to infer a correlation between the tick values and the LC50 values of the tested compounds, thus, cross- resistance was not observed, and the different results found may be related to the current
phenotypes between populations.
