Standardized ileal digestibility of fish meal phosphorus for broilers.

The objective was to determine the chemical composition and the coefficients of true ileal digestibility of phosphorus (CdieP) of different fishmeals, by the direct method. Three fish meals were evaluated, which differed from each other in terms of crude protein content (FP 55%, 60% e 65%). The experimental, semi-purified rations were formulated with corn starch and sugar (FP 5%, FP 60%, FP 65%), containing approximately 10% of each fish meal and 3g/kg of titanium dioxide was added in all diets as an indigestible indicator. A purified ration based on corn starch and sugar, free of calcium and phosphorus (RC) was formulated to determine the possible endogenous species. A total of 216 Cobb 500 broilers were housed in metabolic cages. Four experimental diets were distributed in a completely randomized design, in 4 treatments (rations with different fish meal), 9 replicates of 6 birds per experimental unit. The birds received an experimental diet for 3 days, from 19 to 22 days of age. On the 22nd day of age, the birds were stunned in a controlled atmosphere, by CO2 saturation, to collect the pre-cecal content. Digestaile samples and experimental diets were for dry matter, phosphorus and ceramics. The endogenous losses with the use of the purified diet were determined in 190.4 mg/kg of ingested dry matter (DMi). cpcv. In the direct method, the test ingredient is a unique source of dietary phosphorus, therefore, the digestibility of the diet is assumed to be the digestibility of the test ingredient. The performance performance data, apparent digestion of diets and CdieP were selected for an analysis of variance at the 5% significance level, and the performance indicators of the Tukey test. Endogenous losses with the use of the purified diet were determined in 190,4 mg/kg of dry matter intake (DMi). The standardized ileal digestibility coefficients of phosphorus (CdieP) differed between the fish meals evaluated, being 67.96%, 79.22% and 82.12%, respectively for FP 55%, FP 60% e FP65%. The direct method was suitable for the determination of ileal phosphorus digestibility of fish meal, due to the lower need for animals, analyzes and resources. Fish meal showed high values of phosphorus digestibility, which can be considered excellent sources of phosphorus in diets for broilers. The phosphorus digestibility value was higher in the flours with the highest protein value, validating the need to use the phosphorus digestibility concept in the composition of ingredients and in the formulation of diets for broilers.
