Determination of digestible calcium values in animal foods and calcium requirements for broilers.

Three experiments were conducted in the Laboratory of animal metabolism of the Department of Animal Nutrition and Pastures of the Animal Science Institute of the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro. In the first experiment, a metabolism assay was performed to determine the effect of the process methodology (direct methods, regression and substitution) on the digestibility of fishmeal. The fishmeal digestibility coefficients are those that determine the direct, regression and substitution methods of 0.77, 0.70 and 0.61, respectively. The digestibility of fishmeal by the substitution method was higher (P <0.05). In digestibility coefficients of the same of three meat and bone meal (MBM) were by direct air. The ileal digestibility coefficients of the real of MBM1, MBM2 and MBM3 were determined as 0.621, 0.539, 0.818, respectively. The true digestibility of MBM3 was higher (P <0.05) than MBM1 and MBM2. A true Ca digestible of MBM1 was similar (P> 0.05) to MBM2. In the third experiment, the digestibility coefficients can be obtained from three poultry by-product meal (PBPM) by the direct process. The ileal digestibility coefficients of the PBPM1, PBPM 2 and PBPM3 teeth were determined as 0.944, 0.867 and 0.913 respectively. A true Ca digestibility of the flours evaluated was similar (P> 0.05) with no difference between them.
