Studies on morphometric analyzes of horses have progressed in recent years; always assuming that this assessment is related to the horse's fitness. With the advancement of genetic evaluation in equinoculture, the opportunity was created to obtain accurate information about the functionality of animals, as well as the greater accuracy of the offspring and to obtain the desired gene. This research aims to carry out a study of phenotypic characteristics and the Study of Wide Genomic Association (GWAS) of morphometric measurements in Campolina horses. 267 horses were measured, aged over 36 months, registered at the Brazilian Association of Breeders of the Horse Campolina (ABCCCampolina), belonging to the states of Bahia, Rio de Janeiro and Minas Gerais, for the phenotypic analysis of 45 morphometric measurements. Of these horses, 48 animals were selected, based on the pedigree, for DNA extraction for later GWAS. And, to identify the genes related to the morphometric measurements, 18,876 horse genealogical records made available by ABCCCampolina were used, which contained the information of 15 morphometric measurements. Genomic DNA was extracted from hair bulb samples using the Nucleospin Tissue kit. After DNA extraction, DNA genotyping occurred using the GGP chip Equine Illumina-24 Kit ~ 65000SNP. The statistical analyzes of Pearson's correlation, covariance, discriminant analysis and main components, and were performed for phenotypic data. After the GWAS was carried out. All analyzes were performed using Rstudio®. In Pearson's correlation analysis, it was observed that the linear and perimeter measurements correlate positively with the 44 morphometric measurements. Most angular measurements have non-significant correlations with morphometric measurements. It was found that in the analysis of covariance, of main components (CP), and discriminant that males showed less variation in linear measures and perimeters in relation to females. In the analysis of GWAS it was observed that the 15 morphometric measurements evaluated presented candidate genes, which were responsible for explaining more than 1% of the genetic variation that occurred in horses of the Campolina breed. It is concluded that in the Campolina breed, linear and perimeter measurements are the most suitable morphometric measures for classifying horses in terms of sex, showing greater sexual dimorphism when compared to angular measurements. The possible candidate genes for the morphometric measurements evaluated were: RBMS3, HAUS, PIK3R1, SUCLG2, ZCWPW2, CLYBL, DNAJC3, DNAJC15, KMO, LMOD3, LOC100630859, LOC102148584, LRCH1 and THRB.
