SUMMARY:

This research has as a main object of analysis two books by the Hungarian author Gitta Sereny about Nazi criminals. Our research has as an objective, observe, analyze and understand how the author reflects about two war criminals in her works. For this research to be possible, we will use the books "Into the darkness - An examination of conscience", released in 1974, about the former commander of Nazi death camps, Franz Stangl. As well as the book “Albert Speer – His battle with truth”, released in 1995, about the former Minister of the Reich, Albert Speer. With this analysis, we were able to understand the author's attempt to bring the interviewees closer to an "ordinary men", distancing them from the monstrous stigma that distances them from humanity.
