The present work intends to analyze the representations of the suffragist movement in the Minas Gerais press between the years of 1928 and 1932 through the newspaper Estado de Minas. The research seeks to shed light on the role of women in the construction of the historical narrative and in the search for the right to vote, thus contributing to the enrichment of the historiography related to women in the context of Minas Gerais. The chosen time frame covers the founding period of the newspaper "Estado de Minas" and the enactment of the 1932 Electoral Code, crucial milestones for understanding this movement.
