RESUMO:

The Second World War is still a great challenge for those who study their events in order to elaborate a historiographical reflection. Amongst the various events arising from the greatest war in history, the Shoah occupies a prominent place in historiography, especially in German and Israeli production. The present research has as main objective to investigate the notions and categories of passivity and resistance from the testimonies of survivors of the Shoah; how, when and for what purpose do the survivors classify an action as passive or as an action of resistance? Therefore, I would like to propose an investigation of both notions from the narratives elaborated by survivors, in order to understand how these categories are formed and used, observing its context and its purpose.
