RESUMO:

The present work intends to analyze how the theme of the Atlantic traffic of enslaved Africans has been approached in  teaching of African history in the last years (2003-2018), considering the importance and the presence of African history in history teaching, production of study materials and also in view of the historiographical relevance of the slave trade for Brazilian production. Therefore, to understand, in the light of historiography that discusses the slave trade in Africa and using the history textbook as a source of analysis and as a fundamental part of the production of interpretations about Africans in school, as the slave trade in Africa has being interpreted and taught in History teaching at school.
