RESUMO:

Our work will analyze the social interactions, power statuses and hierarchies between individuals from the third generation of the Loyal War, Aleixo Godinho and Vieira, between the years of 1772 and 1822. From their trajectories, we will map the relations that constituted, in life, the magistrates and intellectual members of these families. The temporality employed began with the reformulation of the statutes of the University of Coimbra in 1772. However, we will use, in fact, by initial beacon, the creation of the Teaching Chair in Patriotic Law by José Joaquim Vieira Godinho in 1772, and we will go to 1813, when the documentary reports were over, due to the passing of magistrates and senior officers between the Loyal War, Aleixo Godinho and Vieira, during the first decades of the nineteenth century.

It was born in the year 1758, Francisco de Sousa Guerra Araújo Godinho. He entered the Course of Laws in 1779, became an ombudsman in Sabará, a judge by the Court of Appeal of Rio de Janeiro and the House of Suplication in Brazil, ending his appointments as advisor to the Royal Estate during the coming of the Royal Family.

José Joaquim Vieira Godinho, graduated in Canons and professor in the Law course, created the chair of Patriotic Law, in 1772, and inserted the discipline in the University. Some time later, he became adjudicator of the Agravos in the Tribunal of the Supplication and Honorary in the Paço. After the functions exerted as professor in the University, he ascended to the aggravate in the Supplication and to honorary of the Palace, assuming the title of the last one in the year of 1795.

João Batista Vieira Morais Godinho, Governor and Captain General of the Timor Islands (Africa), Brigadeiro, Field Marshal and Interim Governor in Bahia, with effective participation in the Artillery Regiments. Approximately in the same period, Manoel da Guerra de Sousa and Castro Godinho, younger brother of Francisco Godinho, is sent to India to serve in the Artillery Regiment and Legion of the Royal Volunteers of Pondá, obtaining the rank of colonel and returning to the captaincy, years later. He also acted in the Chamber of Mariana with his brother João Luciano Godinho. Both had the nickname "Brothers War". We realize that it is a family very articulated in the society, since it circulated between the American, African and Indian territories. These were the ones that circulated most throughout the Imperial territory. The other brothers and cousins continued acting between the regions of Mariana, Sabará and also in the Regiment of Artillery of Sete Lagoas
