RESUMO:

The present research aims to understand the political insertion ways and the estrategies articulated by "rio-grandense" militaries, José Antonio Corrêa da Câmara (Visconde de Pelotas) and Manuel Luís Osório (Marquês do Herval), in the ascension on the imperial politics. That's for, makes imperative analyse the active and passive the correspondence exchanged by José Antônio Corrêa da Câmara and Manuel Luís Osório, along 1870 up to 1879. After long period acting in belic conflicts, organizing troops and militaries estrategies, believies thoses individuals became important to Rio de Janeiro's imperial court, which results in the social bonds enlargment and of respectively sociability nuclei, driving the political ascension of imperial court. Analysing the correspondence, it aims to define how the São Pedro do Rio Grande do Sul province's and Imperial court bond has stablished just after Paraguay war (1864-1870).
