RESUMO:

The referred research seeks to discuss the experiences of individuals in the prison community of the Aracaju Model Penitentiary in the intrinsic from 1926 to 1960, looking at the relationships maintained between detainees and these with guards, direction and residents of the region, in the internal and external spaces of the institution, through various sources that lead us to tread the paths of everyday life. It is also intended to analyze the gender relations between individuals and the trajectories of black detainees in post-abolition. The research shows stories of unusual characters and the vision of how the government apparatus categorized people of color and attributed a burden of prejudice to them. The guiding question of this aspect is to problematize this load of prejudices attributed to the mentioned characters who were persecuted by the discourse of the time and did not have the right to weave styles of own lives in those spaces, being denied by subjects that marginalized their daily experiences and at any time incriminated their actions and actions. The methodology used is the evidential paradigm, applied to a range of different sources: prison records, medical records, conditional release letters, daily part book, prison institution reports, government messages, offices, chaplain's speech and newspapers. This work will contribute to fill the gaps in the historiography of prisons, since few researchers have looked at this object of research in the debates about the twentieth century. And in what concerns to the studies on the State of Sergipe is a research that has a documentary corpus unpublished.
