RESUMO:

The work aims to investigate the construction of the cannabis criminalization and prohibition campaign in the united states in the years 1900-1937. To perform this task, we will carry out an analysis focused on the social history of the prohibitionist phenomenon. The study will be based on journalistic, filmographic and legislative sources selected based on their relevance in the context of the elaboration of American prohibitionism. Research, therefore, has as a central problem understanding the construction of the cannabis ban campaign and its criminalization process.
