The cut from 1855 to 1890 is observing an idea of modernity and development as a result of the implementation of the D. Pedro II Railroad and the repair and maintenance workshop for the railroad built in Engenho de Dentro. Because with the construction of the workshop, we see a population growth in this location, and from that, we have the construction and emergence of houses that were directly linked to the urbanization process of this space and which also had the role of housing the workers of the D. Railroad. Peter II. With the analysis of this process, we have the possibility of observing the workers' relationships and lives in this new context of a form of free work, reflecting the issue of freedom.
