SUMMARY:

This research aims to analyze the growing adherence of evangelicals to ultraconservative and reactionary agendas. This adherence is an attack against diversity, minority groups, and even against democracy. Realizing his undeniable participation, we will approach Pastor and Opinion Leader Silas Malafaia as a globalizing figure of this process. Investigating the social factors that have potentiated his influence on public opinion, and the unique characteristics that complement his communicative strategies. This way, we apprehend the movements that leaders like Malafaia deem necessary to remain relevant and active in the political and religious power systems.
