SUMMARY:

The theme proposed in this research is the study of black demography and family in Vila de Santo Antônio de Sá, located in Recôncavo da Guanabara, throughout the 18th century. The aim is to study the formation of slave families and their bonds of comradeship from a long-term perspective, observing variations in trends throughout this period. This research also aims to establish the relationship between this sociability and the development of Rio de Janeiro's economy in that period, realizing that the region's economic growth changed the profile of slaves and their owners.
