This thesis proposes na analysis of the Maquis magazine. Created by Fidélis dos Santos Amaral Netto (1921-1995), in the wake of the political activism of Carlos Lacerda (1914-1977), Maquis circulated between 1956-62. In the bibliography, Maquis was situated as part of the political opposition to the Juscelino Kubitschek government (1956-61). In some cases, there is a mention of the controversial language that Maquis used to fight the government. This thesis intends to go beyond these aspects by questioning whether Maquis was a journalistc institution that articulated different interests throughout its editions. The question is based on a way of thinking about society referecend in the sociology of Pierre Bourdieu (1930-2002), especially in his concepts of symbolic power, habitus and field. Thus, is an expectation of understanding the development of the magazine’s political journalism, what its choices were, what its margins of action were and how it articulated with other social actors at the time. In short, in light of her position in the social structure, what did she aim for when participating in the power games.
