SUMMARY:

Thais teses intends to analyze the trajectories of the military that resisted in favoring the
coup and the seizure of power by their peers, becoming priority targets of persecutory
policies during the Brazilian military dictatorship (1964-1985). The memory of the coup
and the subsequent dictatorial period has been the subject of disputes as soon as the
political phenomenon took place. Recently, these disputes have brought to light a
political discourse of exaltation of the period, which in practice was evident through the
symbolic devaluation of a memory of resistance to the regime, as well as the revocation
of political amnesties that affected various groups, including the military. In this way,
the present work observes the constitution of the Associação Democrática e
Nacionalista de Militares (ADNAM), successor of the Associação de Militares
Cassados (AMIC), in order to understand its performance in the construction and
management of this discourse, as well as the role of its associates as agents from that
memory, conducting political actions, aiming at symbolic reparation for the violations
of rights suffered during the period.
